Guns and canons sound cutting out in 2.1

I've noticed that the gun sounds fail to play often.

Yep, same here. Especially noticeable in the dogfighting mission.

Had this in 1.5 too. Persists in 2.1 for me.

 

 

I've taken doing rasperry noises (ala Douglas Bader) when firing now, in order to keep the immersion...

It's not only the guns. If I start the engine next to a B-17, I hear nothing at all, the engine sound is absent, even the priming pump has no sound.

Sometimes switching from internal to external view and back restores the sound, or simply waiting until other aircraft are far away, but it's not always restored. I haven't noticed this bug with other aircraft.

 

Experienced in 2.1.1, but that was from the beginning in 2.1.

I've had this a few times, normally soon after a windows update.

I've found that updating/ re-installing sound drivers tendss to fix it for me.

I definitely have skipped gun sounds in the Spit, especially in 2.1.1.

Sounds are very WIP, keep an ear out as they change, and report back if things improve or not. I will try and make sure ED notes it when sounds have been updated as well.
