Well, realisitically, VKB didn't take payment until they shipped. So it was all kind of irrelevant there, since nobody was really out anything, even if the whole damn thing went belly up. In this case, they took the money when the orders were placed, so I can somewhat understand "concern".

That said, considering they had a pre-existing product and afaik good track record, I don't doubt they'll get it together eventually. In the meantime, I suggest we revive an old pastime, betting on the dates for "Delay announcements" :P

We did the payment. That's why we are worried:noexpression:

I don't think you need to be worried guys - disappointed absolutely but I would not worry too much.

I got in on the original pre-order of the T-50 Mongoose, and we went through much the same thing with a long period of silence when we thought our equipment was going to be shipping. Heck I raised all kinds of stink on the forums over this when it was happening.

They make a very great product, but they really need to work on their estimates on being able to ship new product.

There is an old saying I kept in mind a lot from my career when I was working - Better to under promise and over deliver, than over promise and under deliver. The latter will bite you in the butt every time.

But they really need to work on the communication.

► VPC Pre-Order Dispatch Update

Hello VIRPILs!

We would like to issue a new update regarding the status of the pre-order dispatches. Anyone who has requested an update via email/ticket will already know - but we would like to confirm via announcement also!

We’ve been working through the pre-order queue (which opened in mid-April) from the start. There was a very large number of day one pre-orders, so progress through the queue has been slower than we would have liked up till this point.

As some of you have already noticed, the VPC MongoosT-50 Base has recently been marked out of stock on both webstores - this is due to our entire team, production efforts included, being shifted entirely to focus on catching up with the pre-order dispatches ASAP.

We are very pleased to confirm that a large batch of pre-order stock has been prepared and scheduled for dispatch next week - Monday, 30th July. After this batch the total number of pre-order dispatches completed to date will be around the following:

  • VPC WarBRD Base: 70-80%
  • VPC Constellation Delta Grip: 70-80%
  • VPC MongoosT-50 Throttle: 40-50%

The remaining pre-orders will be sent within the following 2-3 weeks (to mid-August).

Thank you to everyone for being patient with us as we've caught up! As always, for anyone who has any questions or concerns please contact us at support@virpil.com.

Thank you for your continued support,

VIRPIL Controls Team

Also I just wanted to chime in regarding some of the concerns over the previous page or so - I really want to emphasise there is no reason to worry. You will receive what you have ordered - and if you are in anyway concerned or just not happy with your pre-order, we offer no questions asked refunds (as confirmed by tintifaxl)!

That's great, thanks for the update.

What does "scheduled for dispatch" mean for EU customers? Is the customs cleared or we going to wait another few weeks until DPD ships it?

As mentioned in Discord - the stock will be at our EU warehouse next week ready for immediate dispatch :)

Great news!

Thanks again - looks like things are getting sorted out. You guys got some harsh critique from us in last couple of weeks, but I can speak for myself, it wasn't anything personal. (I am still a little pissed off tho :megalol:)

PS. I really appreciate direct comms like this, (Cypher answered me on Discord directly) - it's by no means an expectation though - I can imagine it can generate a lot of work, so thanks again for this.

Hopefully I will be in one of those 70-80% warBRD dispatches come Monday. Very excited to get this thing.

Have you guys also been working on software for the warBRD or we will use the same stuff for the regular T-50 bases?

It's no problem at all! We certainly understand everyone's frustration - but we've taken it in and it's critique to help us grow and improve for the future!

The VPC WarBRD uses the latest VPC electronics, so will still work with our existing software suite. However - we are working on a complete revamp of our software to ease the configuration process. No ETA at this time though sorry!

If I ordered one from Canada today, what would be the time span on receiving one? And if it's a couple months, does my credit card get charged the day of order or the day of shipping. I just don't feel like having the potential of paying interest for something that isn't even on its way yet. Thanks!

It would take a month or two until it ships probably more as they need to get all the preorders from April 20th out and shipped. Supposedely those will be shipped hopefully starting Monday through mid August. You are charged the day you order. I've already paid it off on my card at this point obviously.

That's just crazy that you have to pay in full for something you won't see for possibly 2+ months. A deposit? Sure makes sense.

Right now they are swamped with all the preorders but even if they were not, the normal processing time from Belarus is 14 days until it ships and then another week or two to get to your country, then a week or less depending where you are, maybe more. I think the 14 days is due to the fact that it has to get assembled and tested before it's ready to ship. I don't think they just have these things sitting on shelves like a brick and mortar place. Sucks because I've heard great things about their sticks and I can't wait to get that new base, but this is what happens when there is no local competition and I'd rather not buy another warthog.

Many of us have been waiting since April.

My T-50 Mongoose took exactly 14 business days to process then 7 days to arrive (Belarus to Aus). Your mileage may vary.

Ok I just can't decide which one would be better. The warBRD base or the Mongoose. What I understand so far the differences are

Mongoose has on the fly adjustability, has 3 cams a 3 springs with it

WarBRD can be used for desktop and is compatible with the Constellation Delta grip (no a worry for me though).

Other than that besides a few dollars, what is the advantage of one over the other? Did I catch everything or am I missing something? Thanks!

The mongoose base offers more flexibility if you can mount it. It can not be used on a desktop. So if you have a desk that can support their mounts, I would do that.

My desk is too thick and I don't have the materials needed to make myself a mounting solution so I went with the warBRD base simply because I need to use it on my desk.

You can also change the springs and cams inside the warBRD but not as many options for different springs and cams as the t50 base. Functionality wise you still get a great gimbal with good internals compared to other hotas and you most likely would not notice a difference in the day to day usage, same quality movement I believe.

So it's not a matter of which is better, just a matter of if you can use their desk mounts then go for the regular t-50 stick and base.

I will also end up with an mcg pro desktop bundle too one day..who knows when as I never seem to catch them when they are in stock.

The cool thing about virpil is if you have a warthog grip you can just plop that on to either base as long as you install the heavier springs, no adapter needed.

Do you actually prefer the vkb over the Virpil stick now?

I am tentatively planning on posting a comparison of my thoughts on both in a separate thread here in the near future. As this thread is dedicated to the Virpil WarBRD don't want to really get into the weeds here.

I will say I am fortunate to have both and love them both.

I have 2 T50s, and 2 VKB GF sticks (had 3 VKB GFs, but sold the RevbMk2 as I had 2 already and one was just sitting). There are positive attributes to both makers, and few if any negatives other than cost obviously for some. I could never pick a "winner", so I just have a couple of each, hah. I've posted and made a couple short vids on the differences/comparison between all the major Hotas out there right now.
