Estimated disk space required for 2.5 beta?

Question for you chaps.

My existing 2.2 install is taking up 77GB. I have Nevada, NTTR, FC3, CA and about 8 other aircraft.

When 2.5 hits, my understanding is that it's a new install, which will copy files from 2.2.

Could you give me a rough indication of how much disk space I should ensure that I have free before trying to install 2.5? My assumption is circa 100GB, as it'll need room for the new Caucasus map. Sound about right?

Note: Don't really care how much space it is, just trying to plan upfront whether I need to clear out any more from my secondary SSD.

As far as I remember, the new 2.5 replaces both 1.5 (1.5 no longer supported IIRC) and 2.2 so you can uninstall both of those and only install 2.5, worrying about an extra 30 or so gb.

That's my plan anyway :)

It would be better if ED made the installer move the data from the other installation to minimize disk space requirements, possibly as a option.

It already does that. I suspect that there is a lot of base code changes. The portable stuff is going to be in the modules and not the base sim.

However, even if the data is copied from the other installation which would still save no space, nobody would be happy if the files were 'moved' so that the source installation became broken.

I have 2 x 120Gb SSD so my second SSD is reserved only for DCS :D Maybe its time to buy 512Gb SSD, not so expensive anymore.

Probably a good idea, I had to do the same, with the current three public builds and three testing builds on my PC I ended up with 4 SSD's and a 1TB SSHD.

Looking froward to making some space on them when 2.5 is out :)

Current Caucasus map is about 3,3 GB big. Updated one is often quoted to be around 14. Aircraft modules will rather remain similar in size. Do the math.

The only difficult thing to estimate is how much space is going to be needed for installation process itself (downloading and extracting temporary archives - not only new map, but new textures for airplanes as well).
