dresoccer4 Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 hey all. so i'm flying around bombing things in Nevada, when out of the blue i begin flying through a super thick snow blizzard. temp: 0c cloud: 2 density and its only isolated in a small area above my targets. i fly through it in about 15 seconds, but it's consistently there. is this normal behavior? cthulhu68 Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 I think they're working on an effect that allows precip. under clouds only so you can fly in and out of rain/snow. Hopefully new cloud system allows for making more realistic cloud formations and creating isolated storms.

Captain Orso Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 That's not dust, that's a precipitation shaft. You can find the same affect on the Normandy map. Unfortunately, you do not see the coolest part of the whole thing, which is the precipitation shaft. Your simply flying along, when suddenly you have huge rain drops/snow flakes racing past you. If you look up, you will see a cloud, but not see the rain/snow actually falling, neither from outside the rain shaft, nor from inside it. It makes the affect really stupid, because the important part is the shaft, and not looking like you're driving through rain, which never touches your windscreen. When you hit the wrong button on take-off System Specs. NeilWillis Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 That's real world pimp. Though once 2.5 has been out a while I am sure we can expect all kinds of wow factor effects. Regarding the phenomenon of precipitation under clouds - The whole cloud engine is under development, and we are told the current clouds in 2.2 and to come in 2.5 are a modification of the old cloud system, and a new one will follow. Presumably the precipitation is just one feature we can expect along with that package. I hope rain/snow obscuration will be part of that package. Time - as always - will tell.
pimp Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Ok. Thanks Neil for the clarification.lol I honestly would not have been surprised with all the other great additions ED has done with this sim. i9 14900k @5.6GHz NZXT Kraken |Asus ROG Strix Z790 A-Gaming | Samsung NVMe m.2 990 Pro 2TB | 64GB DDR5 6400MHz EVGA RTX 3090 FTW3 Ultra | PiMAX CRYSTAL LIGHT | HOTAS Warthog | Saitek Flight Pedals
