In 2.5 DCS already starts in fullscreen, if you press alt+enter it goes in "windowed" mode.

Just FYI.

I set gsync to "full screen only", enabled gsync indicator, when the game is launched i get "G sync on", if i press alt+enter Gsync disappers meaning the game is not anymore in fullscreen.

I noticed the same...I have not Gsync but having a 144hz 1440p monitor I use fast sync and if I press alt enter it is not working...

I dont think so, when I launch 2.5b I can still see my Asus FanXpert4 Overlay on the lower right side of the screen. Whenever I see that knob sticking out I know I am not in FS mode.

Maybe it's different with different drivers/windows versions.

Is there a way to have the game full screen, but still have the task bar visible?

Mixed bag for me, it flips between FS and Borderless Windowed and back for no apparent reason (though I've noticed switching between terrains without restarting the game seems to have something to do with it, at least on my PC).

But at least I don't have to Alt-Enter every single effin' time when going from 2D to 3D rendering as I had to in 2.2, it's "only" 50% occurence now, so there's progress :D.

Depends on the map. Caucasus starts in fullscreen, others don't since I can still see screen tearing if I don't press Alt-Enter. But as soon as I do, vsync kicks in (no tearing anymore) and the performance is markedly better too.

The DCS Mi-8MTV2. The best aviational BBW experience you could ever dream of.

I am talking about caucasus as I dont have NTTR/nORMANDY installed at the moment.

As I play with Gsync I have set it in fullscreen only, when starting the game it is already in fullscreen as my monitor says "g sync activated", as I press alt+enter "g sync is deactivated, therefore at least on my system, pressing alt+enter NOW it's working the opposite.

An official statement from ED would be appreciated in this regard.

Out of curiosity, what is the full screen toggle mode called in Control Options? I went in and couldn't find the toggle. Nor did pressing the key combo bring me to it. Nor, for that matter, do I see any difference in how the sim and Desktop interact.

It's not something exclusive to DCS, many other games can make use of left alt enter for switching between windowed fullscreen and true fullscreen, it's a DirectX/Windows thing.

It's a windows command, got nothing to do with dcs or ed.

Gsync is also very driver dependant. More than a few drivers I used since I have Gsync had crippled Gsync functionality.

Your Win10 should kick Gsync on by itself, the WinGUI/Explorer on my end is Gsynced ever since I run Win10. With Win7 the desktop is not gsynced.

My Gsync LED light goes red as soon as I login, it only goes amber or grey with faulty drivers or by setting it to off. Amber is ULMB and grey is OFF/default ( neither ULMB nor Gsync enabled ).

Says the guy who doesn't play in VR - we HAVE to use alt+enter so we can activate all the switches around us in VR, the mouse will toggle outside the window if we don't do this

Use "cursor confined to window" setting in VR settings. I play in VR, never in full screen.

It used to but now it doesn't again. Launches in borderless windowed even if "Fullscreen" window is ticked.
