imacken Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 I have never known what the symptoms of the memory leak bug that ED were (are?) working on, so please excuse my ignorance. Is it fixed now? What are the major bugs still outstanding. Personally, I have been quite happy with the performance for a week or so. philstyle Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 So, I guess it's not fixed then? What are the symptoms of the memory bug? I understand the symptoms are that player RAM usage goes through the roof under certain conditions in multiplayer to the point of crash. It doesn't happen to me regularly, but plenty of others are reporting it. On YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/philstylenz Storm of War WW2 server website: https://stormofwar.net/

QuiGon Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 From the current news letter: DCS World 2.5 Open Beta Update 4 Since the third update to the DCS World 2.5 Open Beta, the team has focused their efforts on loading time, memory leaks, and performance issues in the Open Beta. In this 4th update, we believe we have largely addressed these issues. For those taking part in the DCS World 2.5 Open Beta, we look forward to your feedback, and once we feel confident these issues have been resolved, we will move DCS World 2.5 out of Open Beta. Dun_Aenghus Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 I'm still having problems in single player. It's a bit better after the most recent update but RAM usage is quite high (out of 16GB) and the mouse movement in the cockpit is incredibly sluggish, making it nearly impossible to click anything. Hoping for another update soon. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Not sure if it's related but are the any plans to fix the bombings so certain bombings (with Viggen especially) dont lag the game out hard with massive FPS drops? Kazius Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 What mission are you running. Some of the big multiplayer missions with tons of npc aircraft / and ground targets do take way more memory. Pretty sure some optimization will help these but if your playing on a mission that was created for large groups of players, maybe wait on those until code optimization is done and do small missions. I have played on some multiplayer maps people made that take up 12GB of memory and on some custom missions I made that are small that barely use 5GB of memory. Hope this helps in the short run.
Drag80 Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 Improvements have been made, more to come. We have been testing with new internal builds, when ED are ready they will push more optimisations to the public beta. No hard feelings but I dont feel any improvement when it comes to multiplayer. Any server with more than 10 players is not join able. Hoping for a true fix so that we can join populated server and enjoy the online gameplay.

Gryzor Posted March 31, 2018 Posted March 31, 2018 All effects are still WIP and therefore still getting optimized and made better. Effects are in my opinion the most fps hit, in comparison with others programs that has a lot of special FX and fps does not suffer, I think this is a matter that has to be improved a lot
