Surprised because the price of the reverb is $699 or so last time I checked. I wonder why the Acer is cheaper. Probably the build quality. Either way with the rift S, reverb, and this I guess we will have to wait to see what is the best one to go with if you are replacing an odyssey.

 

Also it looks like the Acer has IPD adjustment and the Reverb does not.

First review I seen that was bad for the Reverb. I would hold off on getting until you see more user reviews. I thought the sweet spot was big but not according to this reviewer.

Hello ! Finally became the owner of Samsung Odissey +! This is a thing !!! Yuzayu VR helmet and getting used to the realism (mainly overload) in flight. In DCS, I use the PlayClaw6 program to control the CPU and video card settings. If anyone uses this program in VR, tell me. Such a problem. When you put on a helmet, there is no PlayClaw6 overlay on the virtual screen. But when I take off my helmet, there are overlays in both the Windows Mixed Reality for SteamVR window and the SteamVR window (such an elongated rectangular). But it is on the monitor screen. And when you put on a helmet, there is no overlay. I feel that the solution is somewhere near lies. But I can not understand. I wrote to Steam support, they just unsubscribed, they say write to PlayClaw. I wrote in PlayClaw, attached the log files, answered that there are no errors in the files, it should work. What is the problem - I do not understand. Thanks in advance for good advice.

The Odyssey+ and I have been enjoying DCS together quite well. And no, you won't use the TrackIR while using VR.

I saw the odyssey+ for $299 sometime ago but now has gone $499.

I wanted to like ease into VR on a low budget headset and that is where the lenovo explorer is coming to play.

Any thoughts on the how the two compares or any advice generally on the WMR headset.

Odyssey+ is amazing. Get it and put the TrackIR in a box somewhere.

The jury is still out on the actual experience with rift S. Perhaps I should wait to see reviews on the rift S before taking the leap into VR.

The Odyssey+ has a higher resolutions and an Anti-SDE filter. It will look significantly better than the Lenovo. In fact it looks way better than all the headsets I have had / tried in DCS (rift, vive, vive pro, original odyssey). Either wait for it to go on sale again, or settle on the lenovo.

I've been using the Odyssey and I also have a rift. I preferred the odyssey for the better visuals. Now I am also considering the rift S so I would wait until reviews come out from those that got it for DCS. There is the more expensive hp reverb too but we don't know how it will perform for DCS.

I read it has an app I can use but will I need the external monitor to navigate and start the app?? also Will I better be served with 32gb vs 16gb??

If you are using a WMR HMD, When you put it on, it launches the cliff house. There is a desktop window in there you can click on DCS and launch it from there. Then DCS will load in the HMD and off you go.

Yeah I would strongly consider it, their software is really good and will be very easy to set up.

Heck I have been running my Rift CV1 for well over 2 years now and never had an issue, tracking has been superb the whole time and never have to faff about with it.

And I use it practically daily.

you should use someone like VR opticians.... my glasses cost more than my headset, also I dont think it would be very comfortable

Use these guys they will make adapters for your odyssey that snap right on. I've been using mine without issue. I also wear contacts but after work when I get home I take my contacts out so these made flying less tiring at the end of the day.

Yes I have read about those VR Prescriptions but the one takes 7-10 days, I was wondering since I will probally get the HMD sooner if it is possible to wear glasses and use the Odyssey+..

Depends how thin the glasses are. If they are thick they may touch the vr lenses and that is no good as they will get scratched.
