SVK_UVi Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 Hello, after last update my rope tear 90% of time. I don't now if it is me or there is a bug... My woodencockpit
BaD CrC Posted June 8, 2018 Posted June 8, 2018 OMG, again this bug?!! https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
kam Posted June 9, 2018 Posted June 9, 2018 (edited) I just tried 3 times in the open beta, no problems Lifting a 3500lb small cargo container Edited June 9, 2018 by kam Intel 5820k | Asus X-99A | Crucial 16GB | Powercolor Devil RX580 8GB | Win 10 x64 | Oculus Rift | https://gallery.ksotov.co.uk Patiently waiting for: DCS: Panavia Tornado, DCS: SA-2 Guideline, DCS: SA-3 Goa, DCS: S-300 Grumble
SVK_UVi Posted June 10, 2018 Author Posted June 10, 2018 Try 1200 lbs / 550 kg. The load become very unstable... My woodencockpit
kam Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 Confirmed with 220lb cargo container! The under slung load is OK when picking up, but when transitioning to forward flight this happens.. kam Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 Even with the container set to 1000lb or 1500lb it still reacts like it has no weight. Setting it to 8818lb certainly gives it weight! But lifting the barrels at 1058lb they don't react the same way as the container set to 1000lb. The barrels had weight to them and were no problem. This screenshot was with the container at 1500lb. :joystick: Intel 5820k | Asus X-99A | Crucial 16GB | Powercolor Devil RX580 8GB | Win 10 x64 | Oculus Rift | https://gallery.ksotov.co.uk Patiently waiting for: DCS: Panavia Tornado, DCS: SA-2 Guideline, DCS: SA-3 Goa, DCS: S-300 Grumble
Verde Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 I have same problem, if you are super careful you can lift up but taking smth and bringing somwhere else impossible. Especially in VR you can see how rope is rappidly stringing and moving arround in totally unrealistic way, somehow boulding tension by itself. Once there was a perfectly fine rope:(
Looney Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 We tried sling-loading in 2.5.6 last night. Carefully kept the load within "swinging from side to side 5) and speed <140Km/h. Even as the engineer said "swinging from side to side 3" eventually the cargo was lost. What are the prerequisites for proper sling-loading? BaD CrC Posted March 16, 2020 Posted March 16, 2020 Sounds like you got all the conditions right Looney. Maybe 2.5.6 broke again slingloading in MP? We have to test that... https://www.blacksharkden.com http://discord.gg/blacksharkden
TheFlyGuy Posted February 7, 2021 Posted February 7, 2021 (edited) February 2021 and I'm still (or again) facing exactly the same Problem kam depicted in his Screenshots above. This Bug makes it currently impossible to advance with most of my MI-8 Campaigns from the DCS Store. As soon as I have to transport some Slingload (currently I'm playing the Oilfield Camaign) this Bug means "Game Over" for me. I just can't "feel" any Weight from the Cargo. Even when I lift a 7000lb Humwee there is no "Resistance" when the Line is tight, and a heavy Cargo swinging like crazy doesn't effect the MI-8 at all. Also I can Hover forever over the same Place, but my Cargo swings like crazy until the Rope tears apart. There is no Damping in the Swing Movement at all. I am really expirienced in transporting Cargo with the MI-8, but currently I can't deliver any Cargo over a greater Distance without loosing it. Edited February 7, 2021 by TheFlyGuy 1
BlackBird_28 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 Same here... iam unable to make the slingload mission in oilfield after the raining day. The Cargo starts to swing and nearly make a looping on a level flight. 1
notproplayer3 Posted March 9, 2021 Posted March 9, 2021 It's been ~4 open beta updates and still nothing from what it seems 1 Full fidelity su27/mig29 ?
Skael Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Same here. Border campaign, I used to play stable 2.56 and no issues. Now I'm 2.7 open beta, and can't seem to transport the heavier cargo container (2000lbs). It's like there is massive wind changes, it goes from calm to all over the place, then snap! Super frustrating. 1
Hawkeye_UK Posted April 24, 2021 Posted April 24, 2021 Sling loading is an aquired skill - we do loads on DDCS (multiplayer server) to build ground units to control for the ground war (really good fun) and we are always looking for chopper players who like slinging so feel free to pm for details or just join straight in (no password). So with confidence as literally sling load daily i agree, i would also say that it got alot worse a few patches ago earlier this year - so much so as a server we had to play around with the weights so much. There is also an issue with the Huey. Its pretty silly really as these are metal cargo crates and they crumple even at very low vertical descent speed. You literally have to treat them like an eggshell. All cargo mechanics should be made tougher. 2 --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DCS & BMS F4E | F14B | AV-8B | F15E | F18C | F16C | F5E | F86 | A10C | JF17 | Viggen |M2000 | F1 | L-39 | C101 | Mig15 | Mig21 | Mig29 | SU27 | SU33 | F15C | AH64 | MI8 | Mi24 | Huey | KA50 | Gazelle | CH47 | OH58D | P47 | P51 | BF109 | FW190A/D | Spitfire | Mossie | CA | Persian Gulf | Nevada | Normandy | Channel | Syria | South Atlantic | Sinai | Kola | Afgan | Iraq Liquid Cooled ROG 690 13700K @ 5.9Ghz | RTX3090 FTW Ultra | 64GB DDR4 3600 MHz | 2x2TB SSD m2 Samsung 980/990 | Pimax Crystal/Reverb G2 | MFG Crosswinds | Virpil T50/CM3 | Winwing & Cougar MFD's | Buddyfox UFC | Winwing TOP & CP | Jetseat

Just did a small test with 2000kg load hanging from Mi-8 in hover. I released the cargo and Mi-8 didn't even move, it just stayed in the same hovering position like the cargo weight was 1kg not 2 tones! It's unbelievable this bug has not been fixed since it was reported in 2018! Three bloody years. 1 i9 13900K; RTX 4090, 64GB RAM. Snappy Posted May 1, 2021 Posted May 1, 2021 (edited) Are they even aware of it/ tracking it? This thread hasn’t even a “[REPORTED]” tag. regards, Snappy Edited May 1, 2021 by Snappy 1
ZeroReady Posted May 2, 2021 Posted May 2, 2021 I had been having problems slinging in the Mi-8 in The Crew campaign before 2.7. I had to stop playing it because I just couldn't get past a mission requiring a slingload out to an oil platform. Every time the load would just go nuts, swinging like crazy like in the screenshots above until the line broke. But after 2.7, for me at least, it seemed much more stable. I was able to finish that mission as well as the next on on the first try, both involving a slingload out to the oil platform. I kept my speed below 120 kph, which from my experience seems about as fast as you'd want to go while slinging, and everything was fine. The cargo never went crazy like it had been before 2.7.

It was fixed and then broken down and fixed again, until finally broken down sometime during the fall of last year. ED is looking into it. 1
