Flew it last night just seeing what’s changed. I had radar tracks in both standby and and operate while parked on the ramp but there was no visable air traffic actually there from what I could tell. Has some sort of track test feature been implemented, we still getting tracks on the ground, or did I just have something really flukey happen?

Radar shouldn't work with weight on wheels..

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Yes, that’s well understood. The question is whether it is bugged again (remember mention of being fixed) or if they are simulated targets that are there on purpose. Some radars do have a track test self-test feature as part of the ground ops options, no idea on the F/A-18 though.

The radar "CAN" work WOW if you know how the system can be tricked, or should be tricked for testing purposes. Quite cool :P

Guys, if you wanna be of help... Provide tracks

Not exactly a difficult issue to replicate...and was a previous bug already. ED can choose to fix it or not, just letting them know it still exists.

There seems to be many things that are fixed on internal builds, but are not on the patches that get pushed.

yep same with rw fa 18 also with "wow" you also need to trick the aircraft thats its flying as well for the radar to transmit for testing purpose on the ground

Confirmed, RWR indication on leading aircraft from trailing taxing aircraft radar, also seen contacts on the scope as the leading aircraft.

Care to share or is it highly classified?

Just one idea, but I didn't try it yet, would be hooking her up on the wires, add some power, apply wheel brakes, back to idle which will make the nose rise and the front wheel WOW switch is off. Don't know if the Hornet features them in the main gears as well dealwithit.png

Also, not exactly a ground issue, but I pressed that SIL OSB in midair which made the scan bar stop sweeping as expected. Then I pressed ACTIVE which should make it sweep left to right and back just once. Kept on doing that however and I wasn't able to SILence it anymore, box around that OSB label goes on and off still, but the radar is stuck pulsing out waves so it seems. So the whole SIL and STBY thing doesn't seem to be alright in general...

I guess the screenshot says everything

BTW: I tracked a friendly, seems like IFF is also not working correctly (and yes, I know, everything is WIP, the IFF is very very simple and one should wait some seconds to identify it correctly) however this should be discussed elsewhere
