MilesD Posted August 31, 2019 Author Posted August 31, 2019 (edited) wow. miles. i like the right one, very futuristic. How exactly does this interpolation work, i guessed a circular design would bring the best results. Thanks FoxDelta for your work. I am no expert, and this is just my knuckle dragger method. I thought I would throw up an unedited video to answer to see if it took less time than typing it out. It only took a few minutes. I have a few different variables available for optimization of the interpolation, shutter speed, sensor gain, ambiguous pixel threshold, and the hardware IR LED area. I am sure there are some math guys out there who understand this stuff better than me and could explain it more clearly. If you guys find these video responses helpful let me know, Its easier for me than typing. FireCat Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Yes, I certainly like this style of tutoring as opposed to reading it. For a dimwit like me, it actually has a chance of getting through and making sense sooner with far fewer 'eureka' palm slaps to my forehead as it finally sinks in. Excellent work as always Miles.
MilesD Posted September 1, 2019 Author Posted September 1, 2019 Hey Miles! It's F99th -=MAVERICK=-! I remember you frequently mentioning this to me during our long Huey flights over Nevada and I had just found it recently in the forums. I have to say, this is incredibly impressive. It's cool to think back to some of the conversations we were having where you were describing some tech and production issues and to see where the project is now.. absolutely awesome bud. I'll be ordering one soon! Keep up the great work! Maverick!!!!!!!!!!!!! I missed your post, Whats up buddy! Its been way to long. I miss flying with you guys on the 99th soooo much, especially our Huey Ops. Are you still flying on the 99th? You should join the PointCTRL discord so we can catch up. I saw this on the first post: Spare Parts Recommended - USB Charge Monitor and and data logger $10.00 What exactly does this do? mariner3302 Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Things seem to be going ok around here, that's good! Anyone looking at getting a, or a new, HMD should really look at the Reverb. I'd like to know wether I should additionally order the usb charge monitor or not Hey Sirrah, You are correct, the FCU has a battery check function. The charge monitor allows you to monitor how much current (in MAH) is being put back into the battery while charging. It displays both the charge current as well as cumulative Milli Amp Hours. Knowing this information is helpful in determining when its time to replace a battery, as well as trouble shooting if your getting a short run time out of your FCUs. These devices are handy for many other things besides just PointCTRL, they can be used with many USB devices for trouble shooting. Its not required, just nice to have. luckyhendrix Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Hi guys I have some issues. I tried the function to change timeout on FCU, I followed the instructions. (forward button, turn it on see led flash rapid then flash slow, press rear most button when desired number of flash) but it looked like it didn't acknoledge. And now my FCU is just flashing its LED slowly, for more than 5minutes, and pressing any button doesnt help, impossible to power it off either, it's just stuck in an infinite loop

If it's stuck in a program loop for some unknown reason, or if the rear button is defective, you can turn off the FCU by plugging it into the charger. The charging jack automatically cuts power to the micro-controller. javelina1 Posted September 13, 2019 Posted September 13, 2019 Sorry if I missed this. Does the HMS always remain in a powered on state, (obviously when the computer is on and it's USB is plugged in), even if you don't intend to use the your VR/HMD? I have the HMS red glow and was wondering if there's a way to power off without unplugging? If it's designed to have that on state regardless of being in use or not, no issue.
