I've been working on a mission for two nights now . . . ran the mission tonight, worked correctly.

Went to make some changes, add some triggers and it keep crashing and creating 'crash logs'.

I've attached the zip file . . . don't know why it's happening.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chopper

I am suffering a severe also, like others its a mission I have been working on for a week, it appears to happen when ever I try and change anything, and I have to restart as it will not allow me to tab out and shut DCS through task manager.

Reporting it here too. Me and another guy have been having crashes trying to edit missions. From my own experience, I tried to open a user made mission to find the frequencies in use; the first thing that happened was that DCS asked me to save a new load out used by the mission, it then crashed a short while later. It happened a second time on another user made mission, again after asking me to save a loadout. The third time I was creating my own mission, I could happily place units (mostly urals), but when I went to change the loadout of my aircraft (F18C), the game crashed. I then played an instant action mission instead and had some odd behaviour trying to change from auto to CCIP (it wouldn't) and even one case where cycling the pitot switch from auto to on put me in an AA mode (AACQ, I wasn't able to reproduce the bug after though), but the game didn't crash.

From the other guy, he's reporting that it crashes every time he tries to change his A-10 loadout in the editor.

Same here, 3 crashes in 5 minutes using the ME.

Also here (Caucasus map), crashing while in ME - in my case, I was simply changing the pre-configured loadouts, switching R-60's to R-60M's in the Mig-21, saved, then crash. No such behavior before yesterday's hot fix. I sent in the crash log via the error dialogs that popped up after the crash.

Same here but renaming the saved games folder and starting clean solved it.

I confirm this procedure eliminated frequent ME crashes in 2.5.3.21107 I was experiencing. Obviously crashes were caused by something in the old folder, but what? Config? Mod? View? Script? I have a LOT of stuff in there. Testing needed.

Same, build Caucasus Helicopter Mission random crashes, three times from few seconds to 5 min.

Nothing special, set up an AI Helicopter on Ramp and place a route then crash to desktop.

For me also after the new update.

Based on robgraham's ID of the fault, I went into the settings.lua in saved games/Mission Editor, set ShowModels to false, and was able to substantially modify a mission without crashing.

More testing, but promising.

ETA - I also deleted some old track files in there, not sure that it matters.

Full half hour of editing with no crashes thus far.

1+ hours... Zillions of changes.... Yup - this is the fix. Back to serious designing work!

fargo007 . . . man I thought you solved my problem . . made the changes to the Settings.lua and I thought I was good to go . . . crashed as soon as I placed a static object.

Glad it works for you . . . hopefully ED will get it fixed soon. Lots of my buddies crash working on their missions also.

robgraham . . did you fix or replace the .dll file you found as the problem?? Can I use the file from the Stable version??

Please advise!

Thanks!

Make sure you are not turning the show models feature on in the ME.

Show Models feature -- the little "tank" icon at the bottom of the ME screen--not selected. It still crashes, seemingly randomly. I can't repeat an action that causes it to crash. ME just seems to crash at some random time of between about 5 seconds and 10 minutes! Version 2.5.3.21107. But I was able to create a very simple new mission by making frequent saves after every step. I ran the mission and flew for 1.33 hrs without any problems. And for the first time in a quite a while, my flight time was added to my logbook correctly! :) Usually it shorts me by an hour or so, and I have to edit the logbook file to keep my times true. I was probably cheated out of 100+ hours of time until I realized this. But, maybe it's fixed!! ?

Same issue for me as well, crash in mission editor since last update.

I wonder when will come the time when I will be to glad to wonder "Cool, an update, I'm really looking forward to see what has been improved" instead of "new update ? Mmmm, let's see what is f***d up now..."
