DayGlow Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 Nice, my comment was deleted. I will reformulate if it came out as "abusive" or "insulting". It would be a good idea to actually provide proof of that (coders actively working on the Harrier), because unfortunately it is what it is, there hasn't been any substantial feature release or bug fixes for the Harrier in 6 months (last substantial patch was in August 2018 ). Even some features shown in Facebook videos in July aren't implemented in the current version (Quicksteer Function using the WP Increment HOTAS button). I know programming sometimes produce no tangible results for a while, therefore what I think would be a good proof and help people regain trust (as, lets been honest, there is kind of a trust issues lately) is a picture of some metrics from your code repos, i.e. number of commits over time or number of code lines added/modified over time. I think this would be a really reassuring move on Razbam part and could benefit this community. What 'proof' do you want? A video of people sitting at a computer working away? He's says they are working on it. Either you believe him or not. Demanding 'proof' is childish IMHO "It takes a big man to admit he is wrong...I'm not a big man" Chevy Chase, Fletch Lives 5800X3D - 64gb ram - RTX3080 - Windows 11

Either you believe him or not. Demanding 'proof' is childish IMHO I exactly described what kind of proof in my post. Something like that is a really good proof of activity: https://github.com/opencv/opencv/graphs/commit-activity I'm sorry if I care about where my money goes. I guess I should just throw my money at everything without asking question in your humble opinion right? It worked really well for a lot of DCS customers before right? Um um VEAO.

arturojgt Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Toliet2000 I was reading you for a while and I perfectly understand your frustration but was our choice to bought an early access product, you sent the money for an unfinished product with no date of release, it’s just the way it is. It just a game nothing more and just some dollars, probably you and I spend more money in a dinner with our family or in a BBQ. Let it go buddy, this is not your job, grab a beer, enjoy your other DCS modules. Greetings from Argentina, if you like send me PM and maybe we can fly and share some thoughts. Konovalov Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 I am just as frustrated like many here (9 page long thread) on the perceived by many slow progress of the Harrier since it was released into Early Access back on 29th November 2017. It is also however pretty clear from the below post by DECOY that Razbam understand the frustration of customers and are working to address these by providing clear communication of what still needs to be done with regards to bugs and missing features to bring the Harrier out of it's early access current state which it has now been in for 14 months. As discussed many many many times the Harrier and mirage are both having an overhaul which will be done by the coders and the texture artists. The texture team are NOT coders and will be updating the model textures separate from our coders, unless your wish the texture artists to stop all work and spend the next 3 years learning code which im Guessing not ;) So please cut the team some slack, we ARE working on the Harrier and mirage as mentioned, the coders are working on Harrier and mirage right now. In regards to the list of missing features and improvements, I am working on this list and will share when I am ready so please be Patient. I'm not going to rush it, I would rather do it correctly. As I said earlier I have become fairly frustrated with where things are at but I also have to admit that perhaps I did not understand as well as I could have the whole Early Access game release model that has been increasingly used by game developers in recent years. Also the recent debacle that occurred with 3rd party developer VEAO and the HAWK has probably heightened frustrations, doubts and left a pretty bad taste in customers minds. While I think developers can do better there is also an onus on the customer to understand the meaning and implications of purchasing a product via the early access route. ED did explain this on a newsletter last year which I have cut and paste below. So I will just close by saying lets patiently wait for Razbam to communicate what exactly the plans are for 2019 with regards to the Harrier and the M2K with the hope and expectation that we see both these modules in a final state as soon as possible this year. :) From the DCS Newslettter dated 19th October 2018: DCS World Early Access Over the last few years, the concept of Early Access has taken traction with many companies in this industry. Before our adoption of this option, we were often bombarded with customer requests to test our products, or at least have the opportunity to have an early look. We offer Early Access to such customers, and we greatly appreciate the feedback on how we make the product even better. However, we also recognize that Early Access is not for everyone, and some players prefer their first experience in the game to be with a completed experience. We get that, and this option is not recommended for everyone. The time a product remains in Early Access can vary widely based on the scope of the project, technical hurdles, and how complete the module is when it enters Early Access. Eagle Dynamics and all of our third parties strive to make this period as short as possible. It’s important to note that when a development team starts work on a new project while another project is still in Early Access, it is most often because it’s a separate internal team or elements of the team have completed their tasks on the Early Access project and it’s time for them to move them to move on to a new project rather than sit on their hands. An Early Access module can be played on both the Open Beta and Release versions of DCC World. When we first release a new module or update it, we first release it to our Open Beta version of DCS World for “field-testing” and then we later move it to the Release version once we are sure there are no “blocking” issues. mia389 Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 I have had the harrier for a six months now and I have been quite pleased so far. I have really enjoyed flying it. Some bugs have already been fixed or actively worked on (sidearms). I knew purchasing it, it was early access. I do get a bit worried when I seen multiple planes being pushed out. I have no idea how the company is run or do I care. It seems some in this thread "think" they know how its being run or are unhappy. I say keep up the good work. I hope the migs are great modules as well. I will continue to support as long as support is being giving to the modules. Which so far I have seen. Of course I would like it be quicker. I would love the point track in mp to work! It does get a bit disappointing seeing the massive updates to the F18 during updates and very minimal updates to the harrier if any. I am sure its easier for ED to update than a 3rd party though. Communication with community will be key!Which I do see in this thread.
Madbrood Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 As I'v said elsewhere, I accepted what Early Access meant when I bought it - but the imminent release of another aircraft, different team or not, has just left a bad taste in my mouth. With the Mirage "overhaul" now seemingly taking precedence, I'll not be putting faith in Razbam for a while. viper2097 Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 (edited) Decoy, I'm still quite new to DCS and that early access thing. Naively as I've been, I've invested a lot of money already and get fed up more and more of the abuesive use of EA as it is done in the DCS eco-system. So there is one thing I can't understand and I would ask you to point out: Why are there new modules released while old ones are not finished? I can understand that a coder is not doing texture stuff, but for other planes you also need the same recources (or is a new aircraft done without coders)? It is ok to release something in early access and charge money for it. But for my understanding, it is not ok that basic features (like input thing - I still can't slew the TDC with my TWCS) are missing and that over multiple months NOTHING is happening. And, on top, new modules are released. You also need to understand that all paying customers feels like they are played tricks on... Especially when ressources are then used to change things no body would need, breaks them and get released without any QA. I can understand that you don't want to have such a toxic community, but it is up to you to change that. So far, I've only seen words from you. You messed it up for multiple months, now it is Razbams turn to show some action. Let me point over to a perfect fitting post: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3762035&postcount=15 Edited February 1, 2019 by viper2097 Steam user - Youtube I am for quality over quantity in DCS modules
=DECOY= Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 This thread is now closed I am for constructive criticism but will not continue to repeat my posts regarding the overhaul and state of the Harrier As like ALL other EA access planes the Harrier is STILL being worked on. If one doesnt like EA please wait until it's complete before purchasing Water cooled i9-9900K | Maximus Code XI MB | RTX3090 | 64GB | HP Reverb G2
