So. I plan to remake all skin packs released for aerosoft.

Fantastic job!

When will it be released?

I apologize for being so far behind schedule.
The VF-154 skin pack is expected to be released sometime in November, after the video release.

We  have only one gray (non-colored) official skin for the F-14A.
Maybe someone can do this from GhostRiders?

I would love to see him in the official skin set.

And I would also like to get 84 from the film's final countdown in the official set.

Mostly done, but real life's caught up with me in the last couple months and finding spare time to completely polish right now is kinda hard. I haven't abandoned them. They're coming.

Did you ever get your VF-84 set finished?

Man, that video is so well done! Does that mean you're doing the carrier, too? As for the F-14 skins, each of them is a work of art. They'll go along perfectly with your Hornet liveries 🙂

I hope you are able to make that one! We need some low-viz VF-114 skins as well as more early 90s skins. Good luck!

Basco1,

Assuming the photos were taken between June and December 1991 (very likely), according to "CVW: US Navy Carrier Air Wing Aircraft 1975 to 2015, Vol. 1" by Mike Crutch, the BuNo is 161615 for VF-114 F-14A NH-107. It originally served with VF-21, then VF-111, VF-211, VF-114, VF-211(again), VF-41 (AJ-105 "Florence"), then NSAWC.

According to M.A.T.S (anft.net) BuNo 161615 was built as an F-14A-125-GR. It has resided at the Topeka, Kansas Combat Air Museum since 10/24/2003.

Cheers,

Bambino (Astro20)

Does anyone know of any VF-32 c.1989/Gulf of Sidra liveries floating around somewhere? I've found OIF and 1975/6 VF-32 liveries, but nothing for '89.

Stuff like that's on my to-do list for official liveries at some point. To get the details right we need to have the older block external model which is why some of those aren't really in progress yet. Hopefully after the Viggen update the external model updates will start and the texture overhauls can begin, which means redoing a LOT of skins, custom pilots and helmets for existing defaults, etc.

I really want to get some focused skins for existing carriers and conflicts as well, since VF-114 and 213 were on the Lincoln those make sense to start working. Some more late A skins are coming that align with Allied Force and OEF, need to get some more later B skins like VF-11 and 102 as well.

Gulf War would be awesome to focus on but we are short so many carriers. And finding names/PCs is extremely tough as well.

Texture overhauls? Other than the massive amount of space they take what we got is already top-shelf stuff. Aesthetically I don't see how they can be made any better. Or is the overhaul related to those 3D model changes?

As to the ships and names/PCs, some compromise will have to be made there. If we get too concerned over those details then we'll never get anywhere. That's up to the creator of course. I'm just of the opinion that 100% accuracy of liveries is limiting the module's potential. Same goes for all the modules in DCS, really.

I would take a crack at it myself, but I've already tried twice. I just can't do texture work other than slapping on a modex and an NSAWC logo on a blank template. Then that 3in1 lod file things is way beyond my undestanding.

I don't want to be misunderstood as demanding a certain livrey be made, I'm just arguing a case for a more realistic approach to the process that maximizes the Tomcat's gameplay potential instead of pigeonholing it to extreme specifics that ultimately limit it, perpetuating the “Digital Cockpit Simulator” issue we have across the entirety of DCS.
