Guys,

there is a poll about FBP in the game.

Please select point more closely to your opinion.

I dont think a fast battle planner would be as useful as triggers or random events in the editor itself. For this reason I will vote "NO"

Note: These two questions really are the same

Not needed. I'd rather make missions in full editor.

Not needed. I only ever use properly build missions and campaigns.

Yeah, Kusch has right. We'd like to see objects instantly on the map when we put it on - not just icon. And please remember about ctrl + c, ctrl + v ability. It could be nice if we would be able to copy and displace even group of object. Adding objects to the group should be done by holding ctrl.

Although I don't use it any more, I put 'I think yes' because when I first got the game I used to use it reasonably often & I think it's an easy 'in' for people when they first get into the sim (game - whichever :-)

Of course if the new ME is intuitive & quick to use, maybe it won't be needed ....

Cheers.

I never really use the Fast Battle Planner - but IMO that's a reflection on how well it works.

If you just want to have a quick fly around or single mission, a campaign mission or quick flight isn't really suitable. And there's a limit to the number of single missions that can be supplied with the sim.

It would be fantastic to have a mission editor which could generate single missions without having to resort to the mission editor.

Problem is that the FBP at the moment isn't exactly very creative. You get your airgroup, some enemies . . . . and that's it.

I honestly believe that Black Shark needs a single-mission generator, just to keep people occupied when they can't be bothered to build new missions themselves - after all, not everyone is going to want to dig into it.

I just want it to generate slightly more complex missions than the current Fast Battle Planner. Missions with flightplans, and ground starts (if you want them, of course), and with more units . . . .

But then if you think about it, this is the basic step required for a decent dynamic campaign - the ability to generate LOTS of groups, units, and targets, and place them sensibly.

It's a bigger task, but I think it's an essential one.

Maybe two-three (easy and hard) templates for every kind of mission could be a good solution. We could displace all group of units where we want to but whole skeleton stays as it was.

Personally, after using Lock On since the demo, i almost don't use it anymore, but surely is useful for who get close to the sim for the first time. So i voted "I tend to say Yes. Sometimes I use it."

There should be one, but as simple as it can be.

(I mean... don't spend much time on it... give us the sim :D)

Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.

I used the FBP extensively when I first got LOMAC to set up specific combat environments (since setting up 1v1 or 1v2 intercepts in the fulll mission editor means that you know precisely where the bandit(s) are going to come from (heading, alt and speed), where as with the FBP although you've still got a fair idea you don't actually know for absolute definate).

Even now I still do this fairly often, and honestly feel that in the sim as it stands it's the best and easiest option to practice a certain limited set of specific tactics.

However if possible BGP's suggestion of a single mission generator would be a far better and more flexible alternative.
