So should I hold off my video card upgrade until the 5th at least too see what the new updates bring to the performance table?

You might want to check that your PC is using all your cores - your PC specs look good enough.

DCS on my PC struggled in VR until I set Affinity to use all cores, and now it is brilliant.

Indeed. If it was included, it would for sure have been announced. And I don't see any significant difference.

I'm sort of glad vr optimisation mwasn't in the patch. It means that my old eyes are still able to determine improvements.......or not.

Here's to 50% better

Well tbh I had worried that as performance had been poor, and rather stuttering recently, that the VR update might just be a bug fix. But now that we seem to have had the performance problem fixed, with the VR improvements to come, it's pretty exciting.

I'm not fixated on any percentage though. With VR almost any improvement will be a big improvement! If it will be exponentially bigger than the one we just had, it might even mean our performance problems are over. Probably dreaming there though!

Just got to decide whether to buy a new improved VR headset, or keep the one I have for better performance.

The OB update and VR optimisation has not yet been confirmed this week. So I guess we will know more in the coming hours.

Not sure why you are having problems - my rig is an older one than yours and my performance is fine. I have shadows on but set at the lowest level. Everything else is on high. Most importantly, I go into task manager and click on dcs.exe, details, affinity, and set it to use all cores. I do this every time I start DCS. If I don’t, it is unplayable. With it set, DCS is a smooth as.

Problems? :)

Nah man I have very good performance since the last update. But if I was to fly say the normandy campaign perhaps performance might not be so hot, as there are alot of moving parts on some of those missions.

Is the VR improvement patch released yet?

No.

I wouldn't expect it anytime soon. That way when it eventually arrives, it'll be a complete surprise.

I blame the OP of this thread - jinxed it with his bright-eyed optimism! ;)
