JumpinK Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Sorry for the dumb question, but is the afterburner visible again with todays update? AvroLanc Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 No it isn't. HB, is this an issue with the F-14 or a more global issue that you need ED to assist on? Can we expect a fix?
JumpinK Posted June 14, 2019 Author Posted June 14, 2019 (edited) Ok, thanks. Hopefully ED is going to bring an update in the near future that doesn't break more than it fixes. It does feel more and more like playing a "broken beta" with almost every update they bring since a couple of months IMO. Maybe I will switch to stable version, because everytime i wanna play DCS for a few hours something else is broken that has already been working fine before. I feel like ED lacks in process managing and proper testing and they push out a lot of very unready stuff. Sorry, ED, but I think you should acquire some more testers in your team and slow down with new stuff and fix broken things before adding more and more half baked stuff just because the community can't wait for new features Edited June 14, 2019 by JumpinK typos "Landing on the ship during the daytime is like sex, it's either good or it's great. Strikeeagle345 Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Honestly, it being invisible during the day is much more realistic than what was there. If only there was a way to keep it the way it is in the day, and put the bright plum back in at night. Blinde Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Looks way better this way than before the patch, since that effect look so cheap and awful.
Xenovia Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 I agree, it looks better being invisible. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
lancerr Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 I dont think this invisible burner is in anyway realistic. Just do a search for daytime afterburner on youtube. Here is one of those links. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
Blinde Posted June 14, 2019 Posted June 14, 2019 Not maybe realistic but atleast they should redo whole afterburner effects to look right on dusk and night time. Need more blueish and whiter color and shock diamonds.

You would only be able to tell by the noise level or looking into the cans. [ see photos above ] The only time you could see them during the day was in low light (overcast) and high humidity. The video you post is of a F-16 with a P&W motor. It had some of the most visible AB's and still does. this one is rather overcast and you still cant see them. kyuMKZA5tLk Plus, seeing them as often as I did in person, it wasn't a "camera lighting issue"... you couldn't see them to the naked eye either. Nealius Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 Is this only happening at certain graphics settings? I have not noticed any afterburner issues with any jets in the last two patches.
Blinde Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 ED issue. We've asked them to investigate. Please, do not bring back that poor effect
RustBelt Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 I'm guessing yet another lighting issue. Has ED ever gone outside and looked around?

Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk You should have at least checked the video description before posting it as a proof of A/B visibility in daylight: This Afterburner went wrong. A day later, this exact F-16 hat an engine blowout in flight/display. Something was wrong with the aferburner. This is a belgian F16 Fighting Falcon at the 2016 Airpower airshow at full throttle I agree with pretty much everyone else here, A/B plume is basically invisible during the day and it looks better now than before the patch (during the day, at night it needs fixing).
