When I designate through TGP - Seakerhead is slaved to the wrong place.

Doesn't work properly on my side.

My MAV-F wont fire? How do you get the Tpod info to the MAV 'targeted' mode?

- Tpod up

- AG

- ARMED

- FLIR target selected (in a way that would be OK for JDAM)

- MAV-F TV screen and HUD diamond show MAV-F slaved to target

- but NO uncrossed "MAVF' in HUD

- cannot rifle

I did it twice only (hitting and punching switches like mad to see what works)... If I remember correctly, once I had the ground target locked by slewing TGP cross I bumped the sensor select switch back to Mav F display and uncaged it. I think the first time I had to hit cage then uncage to get the seeker on the FLIR target. Once in range I was able to fire.

I'm sure that later on we'll be able to do it right... for now, whatever works:D

Yeah, this is clearly WIP right now (which is probably why Wags hasnt done a video yet.)

However, I've found that after you launch #1, you can get 2,3 and 4 on target by doing the following.

Verify Maverick is caged

Tpod SOI

Designate target

Maverick SOI

Fly your nose to point the triangle of the MavF seeker head (in the middle of the HUD) to the diamond of the tpod target

Uncage maverick

Maverick will **TYPICALLY** then uncage to the SPI and you can sometimes fire at the target.

Its not pretty and the harrier is still way better at this (or just using the maverick camera), but it can be done.

yep uncage the mav seems to make things work (takes 1/2 a sec to respond).

Unfortunately the comment 'lock position slave will be in a very wrong place' will happen after a couple of 'active pause' tests a did with a dozen or so mavericks, but it works for the first couple of mavericks and do also 'step' for a reset to the next maverick.

Anyway, I can rifle a missile by assigning active ddi and uncage and wait 1/2 a sec for slave to happen (and a proper lock)

I tried it too yestarday without any success. If I understood correctly, Wags said in comments of his 2nd TGP video on youtube, that IR Mav can not be slaved to TGP. So probably not even a WIP.

Use cage/uncage when have TGP point. After maneuvering the aircraft, move the GOS Maverick label approximately to the target area and press the uncage button. Wait 1-2 sec. Snag the first target is a contrasting target in the path of the GOS movement . If you need to make corrections remove undisignate capture and manually bring the crosshair to the desired target.

I have found that the Maverick F will correctly uncage to the designated target in the TGP when it is in narrow field of view. When in wide field of view it will move its seeker to about 500m of the designated point. See attached picture.

I am also unable to change FOV when uncaged to the TGP designated point. Undesignating allows both to move the seeker and change FOV.

If you've set up a target point with the TGP, your selected missile will automatically uncage and point to it, but I think you need to manually uncage subsequent missiles and then they'll point to the target.

Slaving to the TGP is still WIP, right now the Laser Mavs are working with the TGP while self-lasing, IR Mavs are not. later you will be able to slave them to a target point set by the TGP.

I presume then we will also have to bore sight the IR Mav's to the TGP once the slave function is introduced. Or, is that just with the F-16?

No, it works like it does now with the HSI, when you have a target set on the HSI, you can move the seeker head to look at that, same with the TGP, make a target point, then you can let them Maverick skew to that. But the pod and the mav are not linked in any way.

Ah, thanks. Too bad, it's nice to just use the TGP to target the Mav's at a greater distance and when in range ripple off a couple.

I'm sorry! I don't understand! You mean, for AGM65F, the field of view does not automatically move to the target of the pod. After we use the targeting pod to lock the target, can we only manually move the AGM65F field of view to lock the target?

I think TGP is bugged if you drop GBU's first then try and use AGM-65F's.

F-18C Hornet. Loadout: X2 GBU-38, TGP pod and X2 AGM-65F's and be unable to slew the mavricks (SOI) with the power off on the TGP, after GBU's released.

My advice with this loadout is to use the Mavricks first.

If there's a target point, the Maverick will only move to that, once uncaged. Same as with WPDSG. You need to hit the NWS/Undesignate button and then you can slew the MAV normally. Same behavior as before.

I was thinking that is for infrared...so night image from TGP is as it is now? Or WIP? Because now its very hard to find where the target is in nightime.

The IR image is under development and there are several threads in the forums regarding issues with it. It is a general issue with DCS and not connected to the Hornet. Hopefully it'll worth the wait.
