RavenFrost Posted July 31, 2019 Posted July 31, 2019 Hi guys, First of all thx for the implementation of TGP Is there an option to attach the TGP on the Fuselage Stations? So I could try double ugly setups in the Hornet. PS; thx for the hardwork on this bird it's amazing what you have done:thumbup: [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Harker Posted August 1, 2019 Posted August 1, 2019 (edited) You can get it on the cheek station, just add its CLID line in the FA-18C.lua file located in DCS\Core Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\ . RavenFrost Posted August 2, 2019 Author Posted August 2, 2019 I completly missed Wags post about the weaponstations where the TGP can be attached. Thanks for clarification [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
TheJJ Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Cheek mount When can we expect cheek mounting to be available? It is sort of important. I understand it was just released but it doesn't seem too difficult of a task. I know you cannot give an exact date, I am really looking for a "soon" or "much later" type of estimate. Thanks in advance, and really enjoying the TGP, good job ED.
DeathAngel1 Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 Yea, we should have it soon. But I like to fly with TGP on central station too and fuel tank on the wing. Its hard but its some kind of super cool also to flying with asymmetric payload. ..:NAVY PILOTS ARE THE THE BEST PILOTS:..
M0nkey Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 I don't know why it's not available yet as i manage to get the tpod on the cheek station, by changing 2 line of code in of the lua files.

tees Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 How do you do this? Can you give a step-by-step? I don't want to mess anything up. You need to edit FA-18C.lua file (notepad++) located DCS World OpenBeta\CoreMods\aircraft\FA-18C copy line 164 { CLSID = "{A111396E-D3E8-4b9c-8AC9-2432489304D5}" }, --Liteningto local fuselageRight or local fuselageLeft after that you will lose IC so make backup of original file. or in attached file you have edited lua with possibility to carry TPOD on both fuselage. Harker Posted August 5, 2019 Posted August 5, 2019 I'm guessing they need to first code the TPod for the STORES page (cheek mount shows 1 instead of FLIR) and make the pod adapter. The pod doesn't lock on the cheek station by itself, it requires an adapter. In the meantime, I'm using the lua edit as well. The vCVW-17 is looking for Hornet and Tomcat pilots and RIOs. SkateZilla Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 I don't know why it's not available yet as i manage to get the tpod on the cheek station, by changing 2 line of code in of the lua files. Voyager Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 You'll also likely need a different laser mask in that station. Have you tried lasing your wing to see if you can?
Kev2go Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 (edited) Because the Pod doesnt actually mount to the LAU-116 on the AIM-7/AIM-120 Station, It mounts to a POD Adapter. Wasn't it ultimately discredited that the USMC never used pod adaptors for cheek stations for thier Litening 2? only foreign users doing so like SPain for EG? Some responses that clarified the situation from a former USMC pilot. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3951701&postcount=29 https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3952636&postcount=33 Thats this guy https://www.thedrive.com/the-war-zone/21790/f-a-18-pilot-gives-incredibly-detailed-instructions-on-how-to-actually-land-on-a-carrier SO question being in spite of objections from an actual pilot, why IS ED still going ahead and adding an apparently non appropriate feature for the year and military branches ( USN/USMC circa 2005 ) of a given Hornet version they are simulating? Rescue Posted August 8, 2019 Posted August 8, 2019 The Question is, does ED even plan to do a Pod adapter? Never read about it. 2nd I'm sure they see this, talk about it, gather information and then decide to make it available for cheek station without adapter like it should (if they planed it with adapter). OR they already know this and simply concentrate on developing the tpog further before coding it for the Stores page correctly. Regardless in 2 weeks or maybe soon we'll get what we deserve. Wizard_03 Posted August 8, 2019 Posted August 8, 2019 It requires an adapter, if they want too allow this option they will need to model the adapter. That goes without saying. DCS F/A-18C :sorcerer:

Wizard_03 Posted August 8, 2019 Posted August 8, 2019 Maybe I misunderstood what's going on here  Ignore me, I'm still new to this :book: No worries :) I don’t understand it completely either, I thought this was a Spanish hornet modification but evidently ED has found some evidence that USMC hornets can/do use it in that configuration, I’m assuming. cjladd11 Posted August 9, 2019 Posted August 9, 2019 The TPOD in question used by Navy & USMC Hornets that are coming later were two different pods: the AN/AAS-38 TFLIR and the AN/ASQ-228 ATFLIR. See below for pics of the cheek station attachments for each one. The Litening Pod was never certified for carrier arrestment or catapults as configured on the centerline. USMC units who were forward deployed carried the Litening while those that were deployed on carriers carried TFLIR/ATFLIR pods. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
Supertaquito Posted August 11, 2019 Posted August 11, 2019 TPOD in cheek station. Hey there, Have there been any plans to implement the TPOD in the left cheek station?
