Half of City to Evacuate for Bomb Disposal

Anyone from Germany that knows more?

Nothing particular, I'm not from Koblenz. But evacuations due to WWII bomb defusing are indeed quite common even today. There was a large evacuation in my part of Hanover some four years ago, but we had a little more time to plan ahead (three weeks, I think). All in all, 14.000 people had to leave their homes, also an entire hospital located in the danger zone had to be evacuated.

Another evacuation last year got canceled because the bomb turned out to be just a rock - thank goodness, for, among other reasons, I hate getting up early on Sunday mornings. :-)

They got some facts wrong. Mach 1.8 is not 1390km/h. That value almost matches mach 1 exactly.

lol. They mixed km/h with miles/h. and not even considering what they said about knots. Mach 1.8 at Sea level (20C) is about 1385mph.
