Luft Waffel Posted October 3, 2019 Posted October 3, 2019 I want to change my CMS presets and I tried doing it in the same way it was possible in the hornet using the "aircraftsettings.lua". However the F-16C doesn't seem to have this document in the options folder so I was wondering if they moved it somewhere else or if the CMS presets can now be altered in a different way? If anyone has any idea how to change the presets or has found some kind of settings file where it can be changed please let me know!!

westr Posted October 5, 2019 Posted October 5, 2019 If you want to not dump as many chaff and flare there is a workaround, there is a separate despense chaff and flare command that only dumps two of each instead of the 10 on the program. I think CMS left does nothing anyway so I just mapped CMS left to this command instead. TaoHermit Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Has anyone figured out a way to dispense like the F15 or F18 in bypass mode? --> dispense fwd = 1 chaff, dispense aft = 1 flare. I edited the bypass program to dispense 1 flare and 1 chaff, which is an ok solution, but usually only one or the other is needed. Seems like the only way to get this is switch between two separate edited programs, which is a little clunky. Thanks and sorry if this has been asked/answered already.

Since the CMS switch isn't properly modeled yet, you can in the mean time also set CMS left to release program 1 (chaff only) and right to release program 2 (flare only) for example. That will give you 2 useable programs to choose from. Also don't forget you also have the "slap" switch, aka panic button on the left canopy wall Planes: Choppers: Maps: Flaming Cliffs 3 Black Shark 2 Syria A-10C Tank killer 2 Black Shark 3 Persian Gulf F/A18C Hornet AH-64 Apache Mariana's F-16C Viper Afghanistan F-15E Strike Eagle Kola Peninsula Mirage 2000C AJS-37 Viggen JF-17 Thunder F-14 Tomcat F-4E Phantom
TaoHermit Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 I didn't realize CMS left initiated prg1 and right prg2, I'll have to try that out. Reading the manual looked like it behaved differently than that, but I'll try it out. Thanks.
Swift. Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 If you change the CMDS lua so that the slap switch dispense chaff and the program dispense flares. You can bind the slap switch to your CMS depress and have flare and chaff on the forward and depress of the CMS switch. 476th Discord | 476th Website | Swift Youtube Ryzen 5800x, RTX 4070ti, 64GB, Quest 2

They don't.... but you can map ''select program 1'' and ''select program 2'' to left and right CMS switch. Then use CMS forward to run that program and you could put the slap switch to CMS aft. This way, you have 3 programs mapped at your disposal. Selecting a program is done by hand in the real jet by rotating the program knob. Since semi and auto mode are not modelled yet, I use the CMS switch this way until it's fully modelled. The slap switch is always there on the left wall, behind the throttle Edited October 8, 2019 by Falconeer Planes: Choppers: Maps: Flaming Cliffs 3 Black Shark 2 Syria A-10C Tank killer 2 Black Shark 3 Persian Gulf F/A18C Hornet AH-64 Apache Mariana's F-16C Viper Afghanistan F-15E Strike Eagle Kola Peninsula Mirage 2000C AJS-37 Viggen JF-17 Thunder F-14 Tomcat F-4E Phantom
Eldur Posted October 8, 2019 Posted October 8, 2019 Hi Luft, CMDS manual programming is almost done, but was not in time for the release. Thanks Great to hear this. I don't like messing around in the luas, because this always alters how tracks are played back due to different programs, eg. if I change my programs and manage to defeat a missile with that, on your playback I get shot down because the original program wouldn't pop out CMs the same way which would bork the track.
