Thanks a lot for the updates. I have to refresh my Thunderbolt flying skills a bit, but then - off to your campaign!

Will RAF campaigns be updated as well with the realistic bomber escort tactic you showed us or did they use a different approach to the problem?
Interesting question!

No, I have no sources indicating the RAF used these tactics, and when I tried to implement them the Spits didn’t have enough fuel to fly the increased route. So that’s a no.

@Reflected The preview vid is lovely, but I have to comment on a pet-peeve of mine, which I saw on first custom skins for the -47 back when it was released (or even on incorrect default skin from ED) and now I can see it on all your skins as well. Namely - the internal section of intercooler door is painted Interior Green. I don't know about OD planes (B&W photos from the period make colour evaluation tricky), but I'm pretty sure NM ones had that door section left in NM finish as well, only with insignia bar painted on it.

Even If we skip modern restorations (thay all have it in NM indeed), do you have historic photo sources which would suggest the internal doors were actually painted Interior Green?

I'm talkin specifically about the section highlighted on the screen below. (Don't mind the missing wing. I've just purchased Channel map and your Wolfpack campaign and I'm trying to learn how to operate from Detling, while not having any experience with non-paved airbases whatsoever. I can't see the effin' grassy runway from glide path, so my first landing attempt ended right in a path of a windsock mast 😄 ).

OK, all my skins have now been updated with the proper inside textures for the intercooler doors. They're available in the user files section.

It was way more fiddly and difficult than I expected, so I kinda hate you for bringing this up 🙂 , but I also really appreciate it: I would probably never have noticed it, and just assumed the makers of the official template did their homework.

June 6th 2024 will mark the 80th anniversary of the mighty endeavor, the greatest military operation in history: the Normandy landings. In Debden Eagles, my upcoming DCS P-51D campaign, you will be able to experience these events first hand from the point of view of an American fighter pilot. Every mission is based on original, historical documents, down to the smallest details. 100% historical accuracy, zero Hollywood BS, and about 90% Air to Ground ops. I hope you’re as excited to see it released as I am. Here’s a little teaser for you, made by the one and only Dominik Keller:

Is this suggesting a launch on the 80th anniversary next year in June? Or should we expect launch sooner (ie by EOY)?

dont do that Reflected. just dont, Walk around, CheckList, Startup, Comms, Procedures, SOP, AAR ... we are not here for shoot shoot bang bang, dont decreese the amount of realisim, thats why I do LOVE ur campaigns
IMHO the AAR is actually easy in DCS! IRL the pilot feel the bank G and ... true. but many factors are not in place in DCS such as aerodynamic of the basket, harsh attachement and de-attachment ....

Hey everyone, just a short update on Arctic Thunder, the 2 Kola map campaigns we’re working on with @baltic_dragon . The skeletons of the missions are all set up, the script is nearly final, and the map is coming along nicely, it’s going to look amazing.

However, in order to be able to finalize the scripts, we need some areas of the map to be completely final before we can start recording the voice overs.

We are very happy with the campaigns so far, we came up with an interesting storyline, and you’ll be able to play through it from 2 different perspectives: a Finnish Hornet pilot, or a USAF Viper pilot. The 2 storylines sometimes intersect, overlap, or just simply affect each other. We can’t wait to show you.
