superserb Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 And what will be the counterpart of F-16C (maybe Mig-29K or SMT)?...

Flyby Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 hmmm... an idea... And what will be the counterpart of F-16C (maybe Mig-29K or SMT)?... Superserb has a rgeat idea! Why not release counterparts at the same time? At least one set of them anyway. I think that would be great for those who like flying online, and even good for those who fly primarily offline. Probably not a very likely scenario, though.:( Flyby out The U.S. Congress is the best governing body that BIG money can buy.

Probably not a very likely scenario, though.:( Flyby out It would be very sweet indeed to get a "rival pair" DCS:Falcon vs. Falcrum, but then we'd have to wait not 9 months but 1.5 years for that module. I'm not sure that would be a good idea. Besides, a new flyable would certainly take 9 months to learn well :) I don't care personally but I'd say it would make business sense to complete the Falcon module first as there are quite a lot of F-16 simmers out there that are ready for something new and fresh, clickable pit AND good graphics and flight model ;) i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5
Flyby Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Yellonet, As I said, releasing a rival pair is probably not very likey.:smilewink: The present process DCS is using may support a dual release at this time. I don't really know one way or the other. But here's an idea. Enlist recognized modders to speed up the process where applicable. Perhaps a well coordintated plan could result in a dual release, if not in the near future, perhpas down the road? Just a blockhead trying to think outside his box. That's me!:P Flyby out The U.S. Congress is the best governing body that BIG money can buy.
eurofor Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 I think he meant that he would like to see a multirole aircraft like the F-16 but for "the other side", no? That's definitely something missing on the list but I guess they can't do for example a MiG-29M or SMT because of lack of data. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Flyby Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Well guys, no matter how it shakes out we're in for a good time. DCS will lead the way to combat simulation heaven. Eurofor perhaps your interpretationis the correct one: a multirole a/c for the other side. That works for me! Oh, no problem, Yellonet. Sometimes I miss something the wife says when she's sitting right next to me (years of practice)! Flyby out ps if she ever reads this, I'm dead meat!:P The U.S. Congress is the best governing body that BIG money can buy.

Yes, eurofor, that's exactly what I mean...no matter when the module with Russian multirole fighter is released...but rather, is this possible (because, as you said, lack of data)? If this is the case, then......but...maybe ED, after all, has access to some valuable data, but we don't know that...yet:smilewink:. Sorry for my bad English...
Vekkinho Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 By the time we see DCS:F-16 and MiG-29 modules some of the M and SMT data might be declassified...Perhaps! But I'm pretty good with having an AFM vanilla MiG-29! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
EvilBivol-1 Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 (edited) Is there gona be "live" training mission? hated Lo for only have training movies...Training will be done through the track system, similar to LO. And what will be the counterpart of F-16C (maybe Mig-29K or SMT)?...In general, releasing "counterpart" aircraft is not a priority for DCS, because such an option may not always be possible given the more important criteria of having enough information and streamlining the military and entertainment-line projects. Having said that, I'm sure ED would prefer to release such aircraft when a good opportunity exists. The MiG-29SMT has been brought up as a possible aircraft in the past, but at this time it is not officially in the plans for DCS. Subject to change.
