Ordered new SSD, mine went bad, Amazon lied about shipping times

Ordered new SSD, mine went bad, Amazon lied about shipping times. Ordered 2 weeks ago with Amazon prime... have no computer to fly until my new SSD arrives. My old one went bad, had a crappy Phison S11 controller in the SSD. Amazon said Prime 2 days, then after the order they said another weeks, this is week 2. Not happy, if Amazon would have bene honest with shipping times... :mad:

I ordered a 970 evo plus 1tb with same day delivery. It shipped same day last Friday. Tracking said it got delayed in transit. Lost package. Had to text chat customer support to get a replacement and it arrived Sunday. Still had to pay the same day shipping charge. Go figure.

I usually order from Newegg, but my daughter, sent me an Amazon gift card. So, ordering from them, well, I better not say, I don't want to be booted... otherwise there was a good chance I would have gone Newegg. Been using both for like 2 decades. We all have our stories.... but not here I guess...

I have always had great experiences with Amazon in the UK. Always reliable even in these recent difficult times.

As Baldrick said, "difficult times." Amazon said a while back that they are prioritizing shipping (US anyway) for the necessities, like medical supplies, toilet paper (WTH, people?!), etc.

 

As a result, ship times for normal Amazon Prime stuff gets pushed back. We occasionally receive some things quickly, but it's probably because it was stocked in a warehouse closer to us. I have just come to expect that their standard Prime shipping will not be as fast on a lot of what we order, and it is just that. Unfortunately, that's just how it is right now. Things will eventually get back to normal. Waiting sucks, I know, but not much they can do about it once they get it shipped out. If it's lost in-transit, it's not really their fault...sucks they still made you pay next day shipping though!

 

And no, I don't work for Amazon, nor any shipping companies, lol.

Shipping is knackered up because of all this Corona virus jive. Good luck getting anything shipped faster than a couple months. Consider so-called "shipping times" to be random wild guesses at best.

 

Maybe your new drive will show up in time for the Typhoon module :D

I'm not seeing shipping times problems from Newegg and others , but in Newegg's case , the packaging leaves a lot to be desired .

4TB ext. USB 2.5" drive got lost... what a mess.

forgot to update: got the SSD drive last Friday, 3 days ago. So, it only took 2 weeks, and supposedly was prime.... I didn't install the heatsink I bought, I didn't want to remove the label that runs across the chips. I probably will not need it. I don't run computers that hard. Lost out of 3 weeks of the fly everything free. But, I can live with that, as it usually takes a week to make a profile I like, and would have to remove the free aircraft at the end anyways. Spent too much money, with new 2080-ti recently ($1100) (the Nvidia GTX 1060 was just too slow and old), plus the $200 Samsung SSD (I think it is among the best). Oops, and the $500 Warthog HOTAS. Luckily, the last computer I put together was a higher end, so the only lagging piece is the CPU. 3.3 GHZ. Then each aircraft,, and this and that.... probably have $4,000 invested in the last 3 years. No VR, No Track-IR. I think Newegg still has almost everyone beat for ordering computer stuff. But, Nvidia came through with the best price for my 2080-ti. Directly through their website. Although some sales at Newegg have close recently.

Yeah , figured the pc parts pipeline would be disrupted . Got my build done just under the wire . Haven't noticed any price pressure yet . That was what i was really concerned about .
