@Cdodders I think so if I remember right if you set day a SAM to Alarm state red then it should on mission start have it’s missiles on the launchers ready to fire not sure if there is a difference if you done set it to Alan state red but I’m pretty sure alarm state red just tells it to load it’s ammo on mission start I might be wrong

You know it's funny i haven't really played DCS. The most i do is test models. So i don't really play missions and when i do play. I usually leave all the settings as is.

 

USS Kidd Update!!!!

The Hull numbers are holding up release. I wanted to try something different but it's not working out too well. I will try to sort it out this weekend. Once hull numbers have been applied I will release her. Otherwise all the weapons work well.

 

I still need to install some minguns. The missiles are more for looks so they don't disappear. I have an idea which may fix that.

I can easily bring an Udaloy. The problem i see often is finding good decent models. I will send you some photos of what i have.

@Admiral189 will you be doing USS Independence LCS-2? And any older US Ships/carriers like the 1986 USS Midway Upgrade, or like USS Missouri BB-63 With her Upgrades she had before Desert Storm. Regardless awesome LCS-1 cant wait to see her in the sim and the Kidd

I think Cubanace is working on a Kiev Aircraft Carrier to go with hits Yak-38

Sushy yes! I'm trying to do all of Europe.. So there's already UK and Spanish. So i would like to create French and Italian ships.  I have a Japanese Fleet i will do as well which would be at least 4-5 Ships! 

 

Finishing up the Kidd. Hopefully i can release her this weekend.

 

Family comes first though so when i have time i will try to create them all!

Thanks for the good news concerning the USS Kidd.

I currently have an expeditionary force training in the Persian Gulf, with your excellent Oak Hill, San Antonio, along with several LCAC, all escorted by Duncan class frigates with several transport and support helicopters on board.

I'm just waiting for the USS Kidd to provide a deterrent AA protection....

 

Concerning the French ships, a multi-purpose FREMM frigate "Aquitaine" was available for FSX, and I think one also for DCS 1.5.x.

Maybe a model could be reworked from these. 

This would make an interesting carrier group with the Charles de Gaulle and the Durance supply ship that are already available for DCS 2.5.6.

Good morning admiral189,  Quick question for you.  Been using your Oak Hill and curious if there is something that needs to be changed in the Lau file that is causing the sea ramp at the back to remain deployed when in game, but If you look at the model in the mission editor, shows the door closed.  Also, are you thinking of doing other ships skins for that particular model?

I did some snooping today, there are models out there for the Long Beach, Virginia, and Texas CGNs that would be pretty neat, but they were either cheap and mdeiocre, or very expensive and had 600k polys.

 

There's a USS Midway though and it's really tempting to look at. Not megacheap but, maybe when I get a few flight gear things knocked out, I might be tempted to grab. It would have to be rigged and animated, probably some additional texture work, add PBR ie Roughmet, normals, etc. but there is experience on the boards with animating a carrier to have elevators, blast and blast shields. It would be even neater if there was a way to give it supercarrier hook-ins if you have the module but unlikely.

Toan, i couldn't find the FREMM on FSX and the online is costly. 

 

Rapier, yes the ramp can be disabled!! At the bottom of the lua you will see Mini Cam Aft.  You can disable it.. Below Mincam Aft... add  --[[   Below Camersight at the bottom add  ]]. That will disabled the script and the game engine will not read it.. Also, you can use the camera to lift it. Access the camera! you can see the photos below. Just rotate the mouse and you can lift the ramp once in camera mode.  if don't want to use it just disable it.

 

Lance i had my eyes on Long Beach but i have the Belknap that i will be creating. I will release it and the Knox class together.

Right now i'm concentrating on releasing the Kidd. Hoping to finish today and release tomorrow or later today. Stay Tuned!

Instruction are given for the needed user id and passwd, in a red colored font.

The file name is : VEH_FREMM_Aquitaine_v1.6.zip

I just tried to download it, and it works OK.
