SOAR_160 Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 (edited) Most players are waiting for the Vulkan API update for performance reasons. Especially the VR community. If you listen to the interviews of ED employees, it is always said that they are working on the Vulkan API under pressure. But of course they still have to earn money with modules etc. So what if the community would be willing to pay for the API change. This way ED could employ more people for it. Personally I would be immediately ready to invest the amount of a module in the Vulkan API, if it comes faster. What do you think about this? Edited August 18, 2020 by SOAR_160 mistake

WelshZeCorgi Posted August 18, 2020 Posted August 18, 2020 I can't know for certain, but I get the feelings the nays outnumber the yays on this one. Also nay.
Evoman Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Whats wrong with just having a little patience. I imagine that this type of conversion can only be done at certain pace with out too many programmers making it more difficult.
Buzzles Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 Yeah, that's definitely not how it works. Also no. Fancy trying Star Citizen? Click here!
TotenDead Posted August 19, 2020 Posted August 19, 2020 What do you think about this? I think you're the guy who thinks that it's okay to pay for ground units and updated models. And paying for the new engine? Really?

We have discussed this before on the forum but it is not something that would help in this case. Vulkan work is massive and the dev team are working on it currently, it will take time to complete and will be part of DCS Core, hopefully we can share more news with you all next year. Thanks.
