Civilian traffic...how much of a hit does performance take with it set to "ON"?

Over cities like Las Vegas it's noticeable if set to high, especially if your FPS is already marginal. I usually set it to ''low'' just so the environment isn't completely static. They don't have any collision or AI, and they are extremely crude 3d models, so overall performance hit is as minimal as it could possibly be. You can shoot them and blow them up, though.

Because Nevada isn't a city...

Hey!

So in low the hit in minimal but in high the hit is big? Did I get you right?

Why have traffic on at all, everybody's in 'Lockdown' !

Because it increases immersion?  🙂

At least on the Caucasus map (and set to medium) they have collision models, it's a little borked but they're there, at least for player aircraft (tested with a Mi-8MTV2 parked on a road, it got bumped around a load and took damage when vehicles drove through it).

Ahh sorry myself. I forget this is an international forum not an English only speaking place LOL

Yes, it's amazing how this simulator is played all over the world, we now belong to a truly international community, with a lot of russian, european, US and chinese users.

Latin american users are fewer, probably because DCS-appropiate hardware is really expensive on this part of the world, so that's why the spanish part of the Forum sees little movement.

Best regards,

Eduardo
