In this track I attached you can see the N001 in game is unable to perform as described in the Su-27SK manual

I used a clean JF-17 in the testing since it has a 3m^2 RCS, the figure used in the manual.

I tested the 8500m look up cold Locking and detection in the track

The manual states

Look up from 8500m COLD (MPRF)
50-55km detection
45-50km lock

Look down from 8500m COLD
30 to 40km detection
30 to 35km lock

I was only able to lock at about 22 to 25km in my test

But I'd imagine other spots are broken as well I remember some issues at the 1000m alt

If you have more information feel free to add.

Unfortunately I’m not where I can download and view your track. Am I correct in assuming that you controlled for the closure rate?

It’s been a long time since I last looked at this but I don’t recall it being that far off.

Similar issue as

Generally, all FC3 suffer in lookdown needlessly since the lookdown range is climbing with the aircraft

All the people keep asking for capabilities to be modelled.... I want the limitations to be modelled.... limitations make for realistic simulation.

Viewing your TRK in which you and the target were roughly co-altitude, detection was lost at a range of 35km; ability to lock was lost at 30km.

Using that as a baseline, I flew two other samples with the J-17 1500m above and 1500m below me with my altitude around 9000m.

Look Up:

Detection lost: 35km

Ability to lock lost: 30km

Look Down:

Detection lost: 23km

Ability to lock lost: 21km

So all three are definitely very different compared to the ranges cited in the manual.

EDIT: Added TRKs. They are sped up, so slow them down if you'd like.

Are you sure? I've been away from DCS for a bit but I reflew my test, the look down cold detection had a nice improvement sure but the look up cold detection was still wrong.

I was dropping lock at about 25~30km cold in the look up scenario when it should be at 45~50km

Hi. Can you please attach a track showing the look up/look down issue you're dealing with?

I have attached two files

In look down from 8500m I lost lock at 25km and lost the bandit at 30 off scope

in look up I lost lock at 30km and lost contact at 35km

The manual states

Look up from 8500m COLD (MPRF)
50-55km detection
45-50km lock

Look down from 8500m COLD
30 to 40km detection
30 to 35km lock

FC3 seems to be very low priority. F-15 radar range needs adjustment as well and The Mig-29S with the N019M needs around 15% better detection range too to make it different from the 29A.

Wasn't the F-15's radar range already adjusted?
