I really don't know why, but MSFS and DCS are both dogs even with a 3090. Sure I can turn stuff down and they run, but still, every other title is like stable 90 on high settings. So unless apple has some magic goin on there (likely upscaling) then its gonna run bad. And really even a G2 reverb "looks" pretty good really even with turned down settings. I'm way more interested in terms of innovations for interacting with a cockpit. I am pretty happy running DCS at high GFX settings in my Reverb G2 at 100% resolution in Steam VR. I just run with Motion Smoothing on and forced at 45 fps. Very smooth and looks gorgeous to me. Well hopefully this is something eye tracking can help solve because the PC will only have to render in high res the direct part of the screen that the eye is looking at the rest can be lower resolution saving a lot on gpu power. The clip that comes with the headset is a stupid idea and should be replaced right away. I'm going to use those thin velcro-straps to fix the cable to the back of the headset. No chance of the cable breaking that way. Edited March 21, 2021 by chaos "It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage..."

I mean it will save some. But are willing to sell ( and by sell I mean hand 3000 dollars to) your retina print to Apple/gazoogle or Mark Fuckerberg? For a 20-30% framerates boost? I did the same to my index, even with the clip intact. I checked right away and see "bending marks" develop, thus I removed the zip ties right away and leave it as index decided it should be. I will never ever do it again on the G2, specially since the cable looks more flimsy to me than the one of the Index. Just saying...obviously you could do whatever you want, but I'm waiting for weeks now to get a replacement from HP and wasn't it for the Index I would be totally out of DCS and my Squad life for the time being.

Supmua Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 Decagear 1 is the one I’m looking forward to. SteamVR platform, resolution on par with Reverb, full facial tracking, body tracking module, wireless option. Q3 2021 release. This might be the equivalent of Valve Index 2 for me. Shrimp Posted March 26, 2021 Posted March 26, 2021 (edited) Valve Index 2 wanted specs (no special order): - Same overall design; - 2880 line displays; - Minimum 135º effective Horizontal FOV; - Preferable OLED displays; - A bit lighter; - A bit better ergonomics and weight distribution; - Rear adjusting knob less protruded to accommodate seating in racing car seats without players head being uncomfortably pushed forward; - Auto/manual mechanical IPD adjustment; - Varifocal; - Better lenses with wider clarity area (sweet spot) and less light glare; - High quality cabled DP 1.4a; - Hybrid selectable tracking (either with Base Station, stand alone or both); - A bit less heat on the display/frontal area; - A bit improved (more durable mini-sticks) controllers.
