igormk Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 Player Controlled FAC I was searching the forum, and I didn’t find anything similar, but if I’m wrong I apologize for repeating a wish. I was thinking it would be very nice to have (in MP) a new Ground Unit type – “FAC” which can be set to “Client”. That way you can embed player controllable FAC with friendly ground units or you can just set it on a hill near enemy troops. Some servers/squadrons employ real life tactics, so it could be very useful and fun having human controlled FAC. No need of new modeling. Model (method of movement) of the ejected pilot can be used here. So, nothing fancy. The only thing should be added is mouse/hat control of the FAC’s view. Although it would be necessary to have a hotkey which toggles binoculars. If those binoculars have geographic coordinates display, compass and range finder, it would be even better! This would all be especially useful with DCS A-10C. Many of you will say “Yes, but who will give up flying to be FAC?” Personally many times I find it very interesting to scroll the free camera in the ground combat area and just watch strikers attacking enemy armor. It is more fun than you can imagine. Am I talking about TBS here? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Nate--IRL-- Posted May 5, 2010 Posted May 5, 2010 (edited) Is it possible to get Blue circles for Threat envelopes for the blue side in the Mission Planner / Editor? It is impossible to determine which threat circles refer to what in the Mission planner, thus making any planning impossibly difficult. Also, while I'm here, would it be possible to distinguish the type of Threat the circle represents, by varying the line thickness and pattern. For example Radar SAM treat envelopes could have thicker line than IR SAMs. Ground to ground threat envelopes could have a dashed line (or variations "Dot dash Dot" etc) as the circle. Also, when a unit is selected, could the threat circle also turn white, this would be very handy in the Mission planner. Another Idea..... The ability to "screenshot" the map in the Mission planner, and have that "screenshot" available as a map in the cockpit. Extra bonus points to ED if that "screenshot" map is editable before entering the cockpit, i.e. the ability to draw on the "screenshot" ala windows paint, in order to make notes on your map. If I think of more, I'll edit later............ Edit:- another quick one or two.... Can the flight I'm in be shown as another colour by default to all the other flights, in the mission planner. It can sometimes be quite difficult pick out my flight if I want to change payload. Also, a Middle Click Pan button for the Mission planner/editor please Edit2:- a Symbols legend would also be handy on the map screen. Ramstein Posted May 6, 2010 Posted May 6, 2010 (edited) has the pilot log for multiplayer been put into the wish list? Like in single player, the pilot log, logs pilot data for amount of hours flown.. in multiplayer the pilot needs an event log for all accomplishments in multplayer.. :joystick: update.. Nate--IRL-- Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 Here is an idea that should improve the training videos in Lock On and DCS. With the mission editor we have the ability to create a mission that will run a video file before the mission starts. So ...... Have a training mission with Wags videos at the start and then dump the player into the cockpit of the very same mission. Sort of "This is how you do it, we'll start again and now you try.........." That way the biggest criticism of the videos, not being able to take control, is fixed. Nate Ka-50 AutoPilot/stabilisation system description and operation by IvanK- Essential Reading
XarBat Posted May 14, 2010 Posted May 14, 2010 I use my CHPT's ministick for manuel Shkval slew and would like better axis adjustment like Naturalpoint has in it's software for the TrackIR. I hate making curves for my joystick axis. For example I would like to set (deadzone end)-70% of the real life stick to give me linear 0-60% of the max Shkval speed; and set 70-85% of the real life stick to give me linear 60-100% of the max Shkval speed. Also as with all sims being able to remove stuff in the cockpit that we have on our desk would be nice.

Shadow Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Server browser suggestions for Ka50 & FC2 The server browser badly needs some minor improvements IMO. 1: There is no way of telling what flyables are available without connecting. I can even connect to FC2-games with Ka-50 where there are no Ka50s selectable. 2: There is no way of telling the type of mission without connecting. 3: No way of changing the sorting order by... servername/players/ping/missiontype Suggested solutions: 1:A simple standardization of showing CO/TvT/DM (COOP/RedvsBlue/Deathmatch) as a tag in the server browser is whats needed here. 2: If a server does not have your aircraft flyable it should not be listed or atleast be highlighted in a different colour. 3: Sorting the server list by clicking the top column for mission, ping etc. If tags for mission types are implemented then a way to filter out all but one type is also desireable.
Bucic Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 +1 ! I would also add the maximum ping and minimum players online filter. F-5E simpit cockpit dimensions and flight controls Kill the Bloom - shader glow mod Poor audio Doppler effect in DCS [bug] Trees - huge performance hit especially up close

The type of available A/C and Coop/DM/TvT game type depends on mission. That is, server may have missions of different types in rotation. So it's not a trivial task to solve in server browser, until we make a direct support for "mission type" in the editor. Right now, server type is a policy of it's owner and may be shown in the server's name. Sorting is needed, yes. Dmitry S. So it's not a trivial task to solve in server browser, until we make a direct support for "mission type" in the editor. One needs to define this variable in each mission, yes. The server browser can already fetch mission name and description. Fetching another variable should be a small task. Essentially a separate button for "server info" that reveal flyable aircrafts, currently connected playernames, mission description, current in-game time of mission and any other sort of info that is of use before deciding to join the mission would go a long way.
funkee Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 (edited) 1. compatibility with FC2 so we all can fly together (keep up the things from FC2/DCS) 2. fix lagging aircraft! (a little lag and any radar or skhval lock on airbone target is interrupted, and if you have auto turn (Q) engaged, your helo will totally mess up) 3. terrain and engine improvements (full multi threading support) 4. missile smoke and missile behaviour improvements 6. abbility to datalink for more A2G aircraft 7. some buildings and infrastructure as a mission targets (we want to bomb a stuff too) 8. enhanced radio chatter, more AI comms (ATC, AWACS, radio background) and airbone/ground traffic (orverall improvement to battlefield feelings) 9. improve briefing (maybe add some recon, target photos, satelite view etc. - see Falcon4) 10. maybe some wet windows canopy effect while raining (check out some fps games (Crysis, MW2) or sims (Enemy Engaged etc.) where this effect is modeled. Besides, the Ka50 has already working wiper so i think its possible. 11. abbility to change skin before flight so it's visible also for other players (see LockOn) 12. Letf CTRL (instead of the right one) + tilde to team chat, and another tilde press to close chat (it's so uncomfortable currently - see Quake3 console :P). 13. Multiplayer maps/missions to be made by ED, not amateurs (some maps are bad designed, and even if there are 50 ppl on the server i got feelings i'm alone, there is too small traffic on the airfields, because there are more then 1 per side, what make the game boring) 14. Airbuster Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 It will be great also to have more non-flyable aircraft in the next DSC add-on. This sim needs more British, Swedish or French planes. It's kind of boring to have mainly Russian and American aircraft, it will be great to see some older Mirages, Super Etendard, Jaguar, Buccaneer, Harrier, Vulcan, Victor, Nimrod, Viggen, Grippen, Draken and others. It will be great if there are more countries to pick from.
norm Posted May 22, 2010 Posted May 22, 2010 I think having 15-20 instant missions that would be selected at random when you press instant action, but remain the same if you hit re-fly, the same one gets dull when you want a quick fight.
