resolved DCS doesn't start

After the latest update on steam, DCS won't start anymore. I deactivated all mods, ran two repairs. I see the first small loading screen, then the steam authorization bar, then DCS just disappears.

Same here dcs Openbeta doesn't load. 

DCS Stable is ok

Same boat, DCS not starting. Small splash screen, then just quits, no error msg or feedback. NOT USING STEAM VERSION

tried deleting options.lua, no luck, just had to login again, then it quit

Same issue on my side.

Today's update just broke the game.

It didn't break the game. It broke your installation of the game.

 

Please try these possible solutions, in that order:

1. Delete "C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS...\Cofig\options.lua" file
2. DCS repair (standalone) or integrity check (Steam)
3. Rename "Saved Games\DCS..." folder into "DCS_backup"

The DCS Repair didnt do the trick for me. (Had tried that already when I read your post). 

But either the config.lua deletion or the renaming of the folder did the trick. 

Works now.

@FortunateSonYou're welcome. Now, you might want to retrieve your custom controls. To do this:

1. Go to "Saved Games\DCS_backup\Config\Input"
2. Copy all that you can find
3. Go to "Saved Games\DCS (or DCS.openbeta) \Config\Input"
4. Paste
5. Enjoy

Hello, I have the same small screen problem and then nothing.
I renamed DCS BACKUP and it works again but I lost all my profiles and my controller settings, so what to do apart from reverting to the previous version ???

Frenchpack is causing for me the problem.

deleting FRENCHPACK in C:\Users\rem27\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\tech solve my problem

Found that it was my Mods Folder, now trying each mod 1x1, must be a popular mod since affecting so many.

Allright, I seem tohave found the problem: The french pack mod that I had left in the saved games folder caused the problem.

but in the saved games I had to delete the MOD folder because with it the games kept crashing

same for me I put back the mod file but removing french pack and it works
(so it is the frenchpack folder that is causing the problem)

Same issue here, running Steam Open Beta version, loading window comes up, Steam Authorisation data window comes up then resolved, but then after 30s to a minute DCS stops trying to load and the application quits (since 2.7 I've had load in times to the game of over a minute so the time hanging isn't abnormal itself).

Was being caused by the Frenchpack mod.

The Frenchpack mod has just been updated. You can install version 4.5 and it wont break the lastest OB.
