Just out of interest, if I were to delete a fictional skin, what skin does the E default to?

Unless the fictional livery is at the top of the list there should be no change.

However, in the description.lua for each livery, it is possible to specify where in the list that livery should be simply by adding "order = x", replacing x with whatever number you desire.

Of course it would be nice if there was an official livery manager as this is a change you will have to keep making every time the game is updated or repaired, unless of course you place the modified files in your saved games folder and just delete the duplicates in the CoreMods folder (I personally keep a copy in my user files allowing me to just drag and drop them in).

Hopefully that makes sense.

RAF never operated the F-4E. British Phantom variants were all derived from the navalised F-4J I think (which I believe Heatblur will be doing next). Although no doubt an RAF themed scheme will turn up for the -E at some point.

Yes they were indeed naval derivatives, one of the leuchars hangars was named ark royal. Thanks for that and yes would be great trying to land it on a carrier one day. They had extra long nose gear I’ve seen in some photos must have been quite a challenge landing on ground with the nose blocking your view ! Thanks for the answer

The extension was only used upon takeoff on a Cat stroke. Not for landing.

The longer nose wheel strut was a variable thing needed for higher AoA off the smaller (than US) RN carriers when we still had ones with catapults, rather than it always being at its most exaggerated extension. They also swapped out the J79 engines for the RR Spey on the F-4K (not sure if the later lot of ex-USN F-4Js they bought for the RAF were re-engined).

The F-4J (UK) variants retained the J79s.  They did have some RAF-specific equipment but they weren't terribly different from the early unslatted S rebuilds.

Regarding the liveries - would it be possible to have these sorted by country (fairly easy to do with minor edits to the description.lua). Obviously everything should be available for CJTF blue/red but IMO, for everything else, they should be sorted by country.

I hope someone will make a Seymour-Johnson AFB F-4E skin for this wonderful aircraft! I spent a few weeks there with Civil Air Patrol while they were operating the F-4E, and would love to see the 334th, 335th, and 336th of the 4th Tactical Fighter Wing represented.

SJ were 99% DMAS jets, we'll of course be bringing plenty of them in when it's that time

Just wanted to give a huge thanks for all the skin makers involved in creating this incredible number of skins from different eras and nations. Each of those skins looks wonderful, it was such a hard choice which one to pick for my first flights.

What a great module the F-4 is!! well done Heatblur!! I also love the fact that from the start there are a lot of liveries available!! But if possible I really would like to have some more:

- Luftwaffe F-4F ICE Norm 90J, with the beige nose cone instead of the black one
- Luftwaffe F-4F HO coded scheme operated by the 49th TFW at Holloman
- Luftwaffe F-4F 50 yrs WTD61 orange special
- Luftwaffe F-4F 50 yrs JG71
- USAFE 32nd FS SEA scheme
- USAFE 81st TFS EUR ONE scheme
- more USAFE schemes/units in general in case we get an european cold war map
- PN coded F-4E in SEA and grey scheme

Keep up the great work!
