If you're still accepting ideas, I'd love to have a 480th TFS livery, this one is a G but they also flew the E and would pair very nicely with the F-16C one.

There were a bunch of F-4E's flying during the USAF's SEA adventures. Pictures are available online but really wouldn't a/c with the squadron tail code markings from that conflict be appropriate for this version of the Phantom? The SEA camouflage pattern is consistent for all a/c, squadron tail color applications may vary a bit and a photo would show that. The Tail Code would be the biggest, easiest identifier. These are the F-4E MiG killers from that conflict.

67-362 was never a part of the Triple Nickle.  It deployed with the newly reconstituted 58th TFS out of Eglin in 1972 to Thailand.  The 58th, with their E models, made up part of a composite wing with the 555th, and their D models.  This was a serious bone of contention with the Phliers in the 58th, as the Nickle boys got to fly their E's without proper aircraft transition.  On 08 July 1972, Capt Steve Ritchie & Capt Ed DeBellvue scored two Mig-21 kills in this airframe, both with Aim-7s.  The radar crapped out after the 3rd missile was fired.

I wasn't expecting the paint-kit to come out day one with the plane so that I'm not worried about. What I would like to see is dynamic bort numbers so those of us that fly in large groups don't have to have x-ammount of different liveries for every single modex and can just have one livery and change the number yourself like you can with almost every other module not made by HeatBlur.

Wondering if someone could e-mail me this skin that I deleted by mistake (F-4E-USAF-AF66-300-ADC-57 FIS By Mach3DS) I requested this from Heatblur support but haven't received any replay.  TC

A repair will repair my entire DCS install and make changes that revert my current install back to the default, not what I want too do for just a single skin. Or I'm I missing something here?  TC

Well, that's up to you then. I don't see the problem, though 🤷‍♀️
Use a mod manager if you want to make changes to the default installation, or put stuff in the Saved Games folder instead of the main folder...

You can try and do a “restore files” of that specific folder from windows. Depends on how you’ve set up your computer if I will work or not.

Hi there is one livery of the RF-4e that i love and havent seen it on this site jet

the germans called it the : schwarze panther (black panther)

Squadron AG 52

(dont think they'll ever add this since its a RF-4E but in war thunder there is a camo of the f-4f)

....

Once paintkit becomes available I'll probably make it for myself, because it was my first phantom model kit. If I'm happy with it, I'll share in dcs user files. Unless someone beats me to it 🙂

Is it possible to create a paint job with out the paint kit ?

Yes it is. You can take a default livery that's already present and change the labeling in the description.lua and modify the .dds files in a program such as Adobe PhotoShop or GIMP so long as you export it as a .dds and overwrite the existing file.

The paintkits/templates are just structured in such a way that eliminates the hard work of building from scratch and makes it a lot easier to work on essentially a blank aircraft and re-enable the layers that contain the detail and components one would usually not paint like the internal mechanical components. That and you don't have to worry about overlapping details such as the wear/tear, dirt, grease, and grime that adds such character to the aircraft.

Thanks I know on other modules was possible but was not sure about the F4 ,last time I played about with paint jobs was on the A10.

Spang jets were DMAS and will come later.
