Exacly that up there - its totaly change how u see things - before I was feeling in google like I was looking on the world thru the keywhole in doors. Now I feel like looking thru the window - no matter what IPD i set in my Samsung - the focus is all the time there - more like u change IPD with binoculars rather than focus.

 

Wanna add something more - As i mention Im a Samsung Odyssey Plus user - and during my break in DCS i spend lot of time in Assetto Corsa - in VR -and most valuable lesson Ive lerned is NEVER USE WINDOWS MIXED REALITY PORTAL with BEST QUALITY opion --> use Optimaze for Performence. I never use any other WMR, but this thing can be wilde across HMDs - for me it was a gamechanger, cause in quality mode its trying to SS image in worst posibly way (100% in Samsung Odyssey).

Can I please ask - those of you who see a noticeable difference with the VRdirectx profile, what your IPD is? (what you would normally set your headset to or what your optometrist said you have)

 years ago I experimented making stereoscopic video with a pair of cameras, and at the time I was told to be careful with camera angle (not camera distance apart) that people with above average IPD will be affected more greatly by angle settings and can give a surreal effect if angle is too extreme.

Samsung is 60 to 70mm, and I always play on 60mm.

@nikoel "If you get black screens during play try adding this line into OpenComposite.ini 'enableLayers=false'"   I am only seeing flashes to black during the loading screen, not during actual flight. Is that what this is referring to as well or should I just ignore this?

No, this is for game play. I believe this is deprecated and is only used for some racing games

If they went sleep I use Win+Y to wake them up. Since I installed OpenXR, it launches WMR automatically with no rooms anyway. So it would appear that the tips in this video, for me anyway, are irrelevant.

 

Besides…. Why is she sticking her tongue out and her top open? Must be watching something quirky. Like an ice-cream advert… or something else

I go into the Microsoft store but have no update option available, just an open option.

Likewise if I open up OpenXRtools for Windows Mixed Reality - there is no update option either.

I'm currently running version  110.2204.7007.0 according to the About dialog in OpenXR Tools for WMR. Can you please confirm if this is the latest version or how we update?

It's just now updated on my win 11 install today (manually). The other machine that already had it is win 10 which I manually updated weeks ago. Seems to be available on a machine-by-machine basis.

I've just yesterday and today done.

1. Complete clean install of DCS, uninstalled DCS, deleted all files and folders in both programfiles and saved games, installed frech.
2. uninstalled WMR and reenstalled.
3. unsinstalled and reenstalled OPENXR
4. Uninstalled and reenstalled OPENXR tool kit.

As soon as I try and change anything in the tool kit, I get this when I start DCS

Exactly the same as before all the uninstalling and installing, if I run tool kit in safe or set the tool kit to default, the game runs, but if I change anything in FSR/NIS I get this crash on startup.

My defualt I've tried to get to work is FSR 80% resolution and sharpness 60%.

Cant tell you which settings work for me, I no longer use it since i didnt like the artifacts. I rather have a slightly blurry image than all the jagged edges and shimmering. But i had to play around with nis/fsr and different scale settings until it wouldnt crash

start with sharpness 0% and 0.77 instead of 0.8 from what i remember

I have it on the lowest(never notify)
I can get the FPS to show, with out crashing, but any other changes causes crahing

Can anyone with a 3090 and G2 recommend some settings for the OpenXR Toolkit? I'm dipping my toes into this and currently just have OpenXR with reprojection but have not added toolkit into the mix yet. 

Also, same question for anyone who has added the OpenXR compliant 3Dmigoto into the mix. 

I like the "less is more" approach, but if there are some basics to turn on with the aforementioned add-ons that helps more than it hurts, I'm curious what folks with similar setups are using.
