Thanks for the testing, I have not yet found this issue and was looking forward to a fix for it on todays update, sad that it is not the case ... let's hope that the developer is aware of it and working on a fix.

I fly mostly caucasus. Have only done so in the F1. Had a double alternator failure today. very annoying.

Page 116 of the flight manual.   The engine regulates alternator heat via BOV that vent the heat.  The speed band increases with altitude but you should remain above Mach .6 to stay out of the zone where alternator failure will occurs due to negative pressure in the intakes…..I took a pic of the ref buts over 5 mb and can’t post it.    The Failure model might be need a little tuning but it appears you can’t cruise at slower speeds without risking alternator failure.

  I just experienced a alternator 2 failure while cruising at about 35,000 feet and going mach 0.8.

All my testing has taken place within the blue dot on this image. The issue is present every single time. Regardless of the map.

Track attached. Alt.2 failed at around 32500ft well above Mach 0.6 and outside of the critical envelope shown in the diagram. Track attached.

@Flappie or @BIGNEWY Could you please move this thread into the bug section? Several tracks and user reports should be enough to investigate further, I guess.

In my flight the failure with Alt 2 happens avery time we fly mission route at high angels, like 28-32. It looks like they need to tune the failure with chart from manual in proper way.

Looks like, yes. Did a short high alt / high speed flight up to M 2.0 in 36000ft and got no error.

Something not correct with the boundaries, with accumulating time and not properly resetting this time we spend in the critical region, I guess. If proper cooling is available in a different flight regime, this should also save your alternators.

Is it possible they simulate the load on the alternators?  For the people with failures, are you in an A-A mission with missiles selected and prepped?

same for me. only had Magics at the wing tips, but master arm and all the armament buttons off. I think, radar was on, yes, being outside the critical zone, this shouldn't be a problem loadwise.

This occurred to me as well ALT2 First then about 30 minutes later Alt1 dies... Engine remained on  landed safely.  I wonder if its the air temp.  I was on the Nevada Map with OAT at 35 degrees Celsius.

Ground crew will not repair either.  I always have to get a new jet.

Same thing happening to me repeatedly.  Cruising at FL20 and above at .8 mach.  Obviously, the Developers know about this.  Was wondering whether any of you were able to get alternator restarted?  I've dived down to lower altitude, like FL15, speed up to mach '8+, wait for a while then turn back on alternator.  Alternator still shows caution.

Never got it restarted...
