522.25 was released today, installed and fired up DCS and was greeted with a crash during loading, reverted to previous driver and everything is  fine again (GPU ASUS 3090, OS Win 10)

whew. i nearly pressed the fire button. did you happen to reset everything in NCP to default? i know from previous experience nvidia going up a full version(s) like 517 to 522 may have new settings that have to be checked. though i did look at the changelog  and did not see anything. i am still on 516.94.

I don't see these crashes on 522.25. But that doesn't mean that they aren't there (maybe because of different CPU, different Monitor and so on).

I just wanted to say that it might be helpfull that a few more people could try to reproduce it. If you suffer, reverting back to your previous drivers should fix it. So there is no risk in my opinion.

I only fool around the F-14 - and still having a hard time on it as there is so much to learn and so little time and talent. But I love it.

Rgr FR4GGL3 saw your post over in the Guru3D forums - guess it's just a combo of hardware/OS/BIOS settings etc and I'm tripping up with this driver branch, I'll give it another go when another newer driver comes along.

I totaly understand your point. But if there is a bug in the driver, it can only got caught if there are more people that can confirm it. Because of this it is good to report such issues and it would be important if others give this new driver a try to see if there is a bug or not. A potential driver bug that brakes DCS is a horror story for me... 😱

I really appreciate your report of this crash!

I just installed the driver to check if I could replicate on my end.
No crash in VR and 2D.  Loaded up a mission in NTTR and got into the F-14A.

Windows 10 with the Nvidia 522.25 driver (no HD Audio driver installed).  Latest DCS open beta.  See sig for my specs.

Anyone getting bad performance with this driver? My FPS halved...

Scratch that, the new driver defaulted all of my NVIDIA Control Panel settings.

No performance drop here either as far as I noticed, coming from 516.40.
60fps @ 200% res in the Valve Index on the Nevada map (cold F-14).
That is without clouds though.  As soon as I enable those, I drop to 40fps unfortunately. 😞

It did mine too, can you share your NV CP settings?

i saw some click bait in my news feed today. there is a rumor that this driver "can" improve performance. but the games tested are not DCS.

No crashes but I was experiencing stuttering (frametime spikes) after installing 522.25. Rolled back to 516.94 and problem is gone. Anyone else seeing poor performance/stutter with 522.25?

Win11 22H2 and RTX3090 here.
