Roughneck Posted June 7 Posted June 7 Still getting "Login Session Expired" message. Game closes afterwards. I'm not logged into any other machines for the game. Arbitrary Posted June 7 Posted June 7 null This really sucks when working in the mission editor. Why is there even this continuous login check when ED says 99.999999999999999999999999% of the player base is single player? 2
dimanizer Posted June 8 Posted June 8 I play single player exclusively... I don't have the time to finish 2 hour long missions in one sitting. So I'll leave the game open mid-mission after playing for a bit to come back to it the next day and continue, but then I get this error which closes the game and forces me to start the mission over. Found this in the logs: Quote 2025-06-08 17:15:04.770 ERROR ASYNCNET (4004): The session has expired (401). Exiting... 1
Roughneck Posted June 9 Posted June 9 @BIGNEWY any guesses as to why we're still getting this error? 4 of us (that are reporting it) got this over the weekend. I've reported this issue in February. It's been wishlisted. Easy workaround would be to enter offline mode before starting the mission. If you forgot to do that, there's another use at your own risk workaround: Before suspending your computer, add a firewall rule or invalid network route that prevents further communication with the DCS master server. While this sounds counterintuitive, DCS will only terminate itself after it reconnects to the master server. It will happily live on without the master server, at least for a couple of hours. Haven't tried that overnight, yet. Update: Tested with the dedicated server, which runs for more than 3 days after losing connection to the master server. I'd assume the client will also. Roughneck Posted June 20 Posted June 20 I just had this happen again...it's getting kinda old. No rhyme or reason as to when it happens, or how often. @BIGNEWY is it possible for you to push this issue up the support team chain of command? I know they have their hands full with the latest update and release of the Corsair...but I was in the middle of binding controls for the Corsair and the game closed out. 2 System: Ryzen 5900X, Asus ROG Dark Hero MB, EVGA 3080 FTW, 64mb DDR4 3600hz Controllers: Winwing Super Libra, Taurus, TO and Combat Panels, MFG Crosswind Pedals Played: Falcon Allied Force, Falcon 4.0, Aces High, all the MS Combat Flight Simulators, Fleet Defender, F15 Strike Eagle (Commodore 64)
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted June 20 ED Team Posted June 20 Hi, this has already been sent up the chain, but there is no clear reason, most of the time it is due to ISP session changes or local internet issues which are outside of our control. 2 Forum rules - DCS Crashing? That's a bit like blaming the road if your car's engine stops every time you hit a pot hole. Not an ideal situation, but a proper car should be able to deal with it. The DCS client and master server should simply be more resilient to less than ideal internet connections. Even if a session check with the master server fails, the client should try to reauthenticate Instead of just terminating. That should be a relatively straightforward change that'll make a lot of paying customers less frustrated. I've litigated the issue in detail here (first post updated since you reported it to the team): Edited June 21 by Actium 4

winghunter Posted June 21 Posted June 21 To me this issue is 100% reproducable. Just suspend the PC with DCS running. Maybe it depends on the PC Bios, perhaps it makes the network adapters sleep? This will definitely happen if your computer is properly suspended for at least 30 minutes, because the DCS client process will not be executing and thus unable to communicate with the DCS master server, which causes the master server to forget its session id. For details, see here (same thread as I posted above). Windows may however decide to do some suspension voodoo that'll cause periodic process execution, e.g., thru Connected Standby. Just hypothesizing. For me, a 30+ minute suspension always results in an expired session termination.

I also had it several times just a minute or two after launching a mission. Also, it happens as well, when a browser window is open and downloading something in the background, so sleeping network adapters aren't the issue. 2 Modules/maps: all, except for the Dora My missions: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/filter/user-is-Don rudi/apply/ Primary system: i7-13700k, RTX 4080, 32 GB, Win 11, Virpil WarBRD + Constellation Alpha with 5cm extension, Virpil CM2 throttle, Virpil Ace Interceptor pedals, Virpil Rotor TCS base + Blackshark grip, Winwing Triple MFD and ICP, Virpil panel 3, 34" UWHQD screen Secondary system: Acer Nitro 5, i7-12700h, RTX 4060, 32 GB, Win 11, Virpil Rotor TCS base + Blackhawk grip, Virpil Ace Torq pedals, WinWing Viper Ace EXII stick, WinWing Strike Ace EXII throttle, WinWing PTO 2 panel 34" UWHQD screen

Roughneck Posted June 22 Posted June 22 I'm no computer genius...in fact I'm quite tech illiterate. But I've been playing DCS since 2021 and this issue just started for me a couple of months ago. No changes to my pc that I'm aware of except regular game and windows updates. So, it seems to me as if something has happened to cause this issue for a lot of us. My internet has always been rock solid so blaming it on "local internet issues" seems wrong. Czar66 Posted June 22 Posted June 22 I never had such issues ever in DCS since its debut early 2010s. I just got booted out of a mission 5 to 10 minutes in after receiving the failed authorization data error code: 502 on DCS boot. Possible fix: From the launcher, log out and log back in using your password. No error message on DCS launch.
