Just as the title says... In the latest patch, despite the RWR being turned on, I get no visual indications of radar lock or missile launch. The audible tones are working, but there are no corresponding visual symbols. This renders the F-16 nearly unflyable in combat scenarios... How did this get past the closed beta testers?

You really need to read what it is I stated before you post something like this... although I'll give you the benefit of the doubt that you didn't see the edited version of my post that I added 2 minutes after the original, which included the details about radar lock and missile launch.

As you know, multiplayer trackfiles are too large to post here. The link above was taken from Moonshine's post in this very thread. For what it's worth, all you need to do is hop in a multiplayer server and attempt BVR in the F-16 to see what the problem is.

i know it isnt a trackfile, sadly MP trackfiles are way too large.
however as you can see on that recording of mine, i get spiked, RWR is NOT in priority mode, the spike although audible, the RWR is not even showing nails of an aircraft at all.

 

also you can hear the RWR tones when new emitters are detected, however on the display they never show up.

I confirm this bug, along with my other friends we have experienced the same issue. It worked for some time, later it broke down just as described here.

When i read your post no mention of lock and missile, regardless, i see what you mean now after testing more. No lock indications or missile launch warning in mp

From my testing it seems if there are more than like 7 radars RWR wont show anything, HMD primary threat indication will still work.
Did some 1v1s and it was working in those. Only happens if the server is crowded 
example below, F14 launched aim54 with stt inside 6nm, I don't have anything on rwr but missile launch warning + hmd showing it (there are more than 10 other radars looking at me here, all inside 15nm with los

Please take 10 min of your precious time and look at the 2 trackfiles provided + the video perspective of @Moonshine (especially the parts towards the end of the tracks)

4YA FOW PVP server EU. we both take off and fly straight to the enemy airfield. I'm flying behind moonshine about 20nm.

He does not see my radar sweeping his plane at all. he doesnt see my STT lock. But he gets the beeping... Timestamp of STT lock from me on moonshine in the video at 4:42. this should correlate with my track file too.

All the time RWR is beeping for new ground and air emitters, yet not a single new symbology shows up.

In conclusion, this is sadly unplayable.

on a sidenote, in a purely 1v1 mission, no such issues appear. i suspect it has something to do with amount of "emitters", but adding 20 ships does somehow not seem to be an issue. granted, the ships were all the same type of emitter, maybe it's the amount of different emitters causing issues?
mission file i tested that 1v1 with is added too.

Guys, its the search radars... I enabled the search radars and my RWR shows a lot more indications

still doesnt explain why an STT lock doesnt show up. or a Fox 3 pitbull....

also the updated EA manual for the viper on page 420 says the Search button is not implemented

i doubt it. enabling "Search" just rearranges the priorities, as in shows/hides such radars if the emitter limit on the RWR is already displayed.
that should have nothing to do with Aircraft radars not showing up, spikes not showing up and active missile launches not showing up.

Spikes and launches should always get highest priority instantly and therefore always display

Yes, that's the issue. It is wrong. But the reason is that the filtering is wrong. I can't attach pictures here for some reason... Try enabling the search radars and you see what I mean.

They do. Try it. They do the wrong thing, but... They work. Just... Different. The good news is that if my theory is correct that we can in fact fly the F-16 until it is fixed by enabling the search radars.

It is still wrong though.

That's just coincidence because I killed that Su-30 before. I had airborne emitters being detected.

Not super-duper-100% sure that all of them showed up though, but it seemed to be working. But... I gotta go to bed now, can't test anymore.

I still don't know why this happens in multiplayer... But probably the number of search radars is an issue. Who knows...
