Generally I think it's more efficient to bind to the hotas, using modifiers gives you infinite variations

I guess it's a matter of preference (and, in my case, ability). While I have gobs of buttons (Virpil panel, throttle and stick), I find myself using only a few buttons, while using VR's "look at" pointer to operate the switches. The buttons that I do bind are common across all (ok, most) models that I fly regularly so I can remember them easily. Point here being that my goldfish-brain already balks at using modifier switches for one plane, let alone multiple airframes (I currently have the A-10, F-18, F-5, UH-1 and Ka-50 in heavy rotation). So I look at the buttons, and click them. Trying to remember individual HOTAS combos for individual aircraft is neigh-on impossible for me, throwing modifiers in the mix will give me a brain aneurysm 🙂

That being said, VA and joystick gremlin are great additions to anyone's tool arsenal.

I would request a hide/show throttle function, as sometimes it blocks the external lights knobs but I have to push/pull the throttle first to reach to them.

+1

@Edmus Yes, this is possible and its welcome its available right now. But virtual pilots in this topicreally like an other option. And if ED is not interested in animate the pilot body to unmask the buttons or make it transparent when the cursor gets close, this would also be a nice option for those who don't like to have multiple layers of HOTAS assignments.

Or we can simply link the pilot body to the joystick hiding function. Would work well in the F-18 (not so much in the F-16, since the stick is not in the center). But it would be better than nothing.

Some transparency on the pilot body would be nice.  Otherwise, most people seem to be flying with it off, which means devs are wasting their time on pilot modeling.

The many threads requesting pilot bodies for VR in those aircraft that don't have them would suggest otherwise. My anecdotal evidence from these forums is that in VR it is a popular option.

I always have the pilot body on and turn it off momentarily if it is in the way. Being able to move the offending limb out of the way (or have it moved automatically as suggested) would be a more elegant solution

My vote goes for the raised hand - it could also be used as a momentary cockpit sun blind.

I like this idea the best!

Can't believe ED doesn't want to do this for us, I love to use pilot body and this would really make things much much easier.
