Not too serious thread - order of incoming modules

This thread is NOT aimed at ED or any of the 3rd party developers, purely as a bit of a joke thread of what order are we guessing that the planned modules will arrive.

So please, no dates, and certainly no requests for dates or demands to have things now.

Here's my current GUESS:

 - F15E

 - F4U Corsair

 - Sinai theatre

 - BO105

 - Vulkan/multithreading

 - LA7

 - F6 Hellcat

 - F4 Phantom

 - Mitsubshi Zero, or newer Japanese fighter Ki43 - Clearly neither have been announced, but I'm guessing that someone will have one on the cards

 - Kola theatre

 - Chinook

 - G91R

 - Dynamic Campaign

 - Mig 23

 - Kfir

 - Skyraider

 - Super Sabre F100

 - Afganistan theatre

 - Typhoon/Eurofighter

 - BAC Lightning

Any further guesses on the order or what else might be in the pipeline?

Just to remind you, this isn't serious, I have no insider knowledge, it's just a fun listing of the order that we "might" get things.

Just realised how much that list is likely to cost me.  Oooh.

I would, unfortunately, move the Bo-105 waaay down the list, and replace it with the Kiowa.

I feel like either La-7 or F-15E will be the first to come, possibly Q2 for both.

F-4, my current feeling is that it will be sometime around Q3

F4U, seems not too distant, but seemed just around the corner 2-3 years ago, and generally I'm not one of the people who go "oh the model looks complete, must be close!", so, same as Kiowa, "who knows at this point?"

Japanese warbirds? Most definitely not at the point in OP's list, if we get them at all. I'm very interested in getting some Japanese warbirds, but if we get any, I don't think it will be before 2-3 years.

Chinook, at least art-wise seemed pretty far along in the 2023 and beyond video, so it may perhaps be within a year, year and a halfish point from now.

Heavy core/engine related stuff like DLSS, Vulkan, Multi Threading, Dynamic Campaign, I don't think there's a point in playing the guessing game on these, we know these take forever, and they come when they come. I'll be happy to see them this year if it happens, won't be terribly surprised if we don't get most of them this year either.

The rest, I feel are way too far forward in future to estimate a potential release date for.

After secretly cheating on DCS last week with that Viper sim that recently got VR support, I came to realize the huge impact ATC/comms have on immersion and feeling of a "living" environment. So, as your list is not limited to modules alone, ATC upgrade should also be in there somewhere

Even if you don't get a single match right in that list, the list itself on what's to come is impressive .

 

I'm guessing Chinook would be quite up high in that list, and probably A-7 and MiG-17 aren't farther away in time than many of the lower part of the list.

based on the previews F-15E looks pretty much complete (at least for an early access). I assume Kiowa module which is in development for a loong time also looking very complete. So I guess these two will come in very short time period. Heatblur doesn't keen to show their unfinished products so it also may come in a few months since we were shown it in the beyond 2023 video. I wouldn't wait for sabre and tornado in this year though. Dynamic campaign may make its debut towards to the end of this year, who knows..

It would be nice to see the Dynamic Campaign come out this year. I am really looking forward to the Corsair and F15E I have to say....

I myself would like to see a MK XIV Spit. Seems like MOST of the work is done.

Not really. The MkXIV has a different engine and while the airframe is mostly the same, the mass distribution is not. The Griffon-powered Spits fly very differently from Merlin-powered ones.

Right now, I want some more concrete news on multithreading and Vulkan.

^ Bigfoot got Roman numerals mixed up so much that we don't know if he meant XIV or XVI ;). In either case, half of the fuselage (front or rear respectively) would have to be redone from scratch, so would the rudder and partially the wings. Cockpit would need a serious rework as well, cause even the current one hasn't been fully tweaked to work with latest gfx engine properly.

But we're getting offtopic here... I expect Corsair, Phantom, F-15E, Normandy 2 and old Marianas map to come this year (not in any particular order, though the Eagle will probably be first given the preorder starting soon), plus maybe a bit of multithreading at the end of it. All the rest will move into 2024 I'd say, but then, I don't really follow modern planes development all that much.

There's a chance La-7 and Sinai will both make it this year. Wags started showing off Sinai already, and the La-7 is a WWII fighter that looks pretty complete, although the team working on it is small. I think that Corsair II might make it late this year, although maybe I'm too optimistic. MiG-23, I don't know, but maybe they'll talk about it after the Mudhen is out of the door.
