Have you checked dcs option section for lens effect under systems? Set that to None and see if that helps.

Yep, checked, it was set to none already.

could this be related to shaders? maybe try deleting the fxo and metashaders folders in your saved games folder:

C:\Users\%your username%\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\metashaders2
C:\Users\%your username%\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\fxo

then relaunch the game and check again. first time launching it may take a little longer since it has to recreate the shaders.

Your glare looks way overdone, even more than the default glare. and personally i think the default glare is overdone too, but yours looks 10x worse.

This is the lens effect,

it has nothing to do with canopy reflections.

Have you tried this?

2.8 introduced some "odd" canopy reflections IMHO.

Thanks all, I think I will try the mod suggested by zildac first then repair....

I think you will get IC error using that mod in multiplayer on server which requite pure script.

Better do the repair, and stay away of mods.

Anyway, I tested yesterday using reflection on or off, there is no fps loss, so I turned it on, before I always had it on off (thx to you and this thread 🙂 ).

You can try my mod which does not modify any DCS file : https://forum.dcs.world/topic/207154-3dmigoto-vr-mod-for-dcs-label-masking-color-enhancement-sharpen-fxaa-copypaste-of-radio-msg . There is an option to control reflection, but it may not work with F16 if it's not sharing with other planesthe same shaders for cockpit glasses. It's worth to try, use the openXR version as it will not be activated if you do not launch the injector before DCS (to do each time you are lauching DCS)

I spend my time making 3dmigoto VR mods for BoS and DCS instead of flying, see https://www.patreon.com/lefuneste

Ok, first of all, thanks all for the valuable suggestions  Orzz.   Such kind and helpful community is why DCS keep improving.  Hat off to ya all.

Back to the topic, a repair didn't help so that should be the core thing then:

So I headed to Taz1004's mod as suggested by zildac.  Bullseye~!  Direct hit! BOOOOOM
