I'm sure ED will update the SH-60 at some point. A detailed SH-3 Sea King model would be a great add.

Good news!

With the latest DCS patch it looks like I have what I need to get the cruise missiles and antiship missiles fixed. I'm currently working on updates for the assets that needs it. 👍🏻

Also very good news: ED (through excellent support by @BIGNEWY) delivered on their announcement of removing the hardcoded issues preventing AI helicopters from using trainable cannons and retractable gear. I will be making updates to the Ka-52 shortly. 👍🏻

@currenthill This might not be super relevant anymore, but the MiG-29MU2 vers 1.2 (and maybe 1.3?) causes a CTD when trying to join an MP server on the latest 2.9 OB patch, possibly with something to do with this error message, as it preceded an access violation note every time: 
2023-12-19 16:38:31.750 ALERT APP (Main): Unhandled exception: Descriptor not found weapons.shells.AK630_30_AP

narrowed it down after spending the last 2-ish hours crashing DCS over and over 😧

edit: i'll add its not unique to the MiG-29, other users on the ED discord reported same thing caused by different mod aircraft like the A-4, SU-30, and community Gripen

Hi

Multiple bugs with this update... many addons no longer appear (boats, cannons, etc...) key assignments are also dysfunctional... am I the only one ?  🤔

So, lot's of people are blaming the problem you describe above on the free third-party mods that hundreds of us use on a regular basis.  While I understand it's not technically a "DCS issue", the problem really messes up playing the game. So, in turn it becomes a DCS issue. I wish someone (smarter than me) would put some effort in to fixing this type of stuff that happens on every other OB update. I mean there has to be something we can do as "Open Beta Testers" to troubleshoot these issues and support the DCS community prior to an update. Maybe better communications with the DCS dev team - IDK.

It was a good opportunity to update the older code for the team, hope it will be useful for you.

I dont want to derail Currenthill's thread, but we can not test unofficial mods in our debug / dev builds, we have to keep our builds vanilla, also we have way to much to test already with the core of DCS, our modules and 3rd party's. 

It is a good idea to remove all unofficial mods when you update, and then add them back once you know your update is working. If you do still have a problem it maybe be up to the mod creator to make changes, or if it is an ED bug / issue for us to look at, then it is best to post the issue in a bug thread.

I guess one solution would be to share upcoming structural changes in DCS core with mod makers beforehand, but I guess that's one of the perks of being a third party developer.

Same thing was happening to me. I was running version 1.20 of the MIG-29MU2 mod. I updated it to version 1.40 and problem solved. Boats and many ground units were not spawning.

Yeah I had that issue with the main DCS 2.9 update, so that mod is fine. This may be a separate issue. I’ve got many other things to deal with, so I will dedicate my afternoon tomorrow to sifting through my mods to figure out which ones are causing the conflicts. 
 

issue is, I am a very heavy modder (50-60+ mods installed, yeah yeah I know) and mostly play single player, and a lot of my missions that I would like to work on are filled with various assets from many different mod makers. Hopefully it’s nothing too major or gets fixed by ED/individual mod developers quickly, cause I was looking forward to working on some of my missions again now that cruise missiles are functional.

No, I meant the Su-30, which it looks like you don't have installed.  Removing Su-30 stopped the errors on my end.
Maybe the MiG-31K?  It's almost certainly a weapon lua schema bug of some sort, and that one has very similar R-37s etc as the Su-30 mod.

Man, the Su-30 is one of my most used mods in my missions 😕

i have spent an hour narrowing it down. So far out of my 60+ mods the ones that are causing the conflicts are the Su-30 and Gripen. probably the A4 too, not really sure. Im going to keep testing, seeing if the SU-35 and su-57 are working. 

 

edit: su-35 is working. not gonna bother testing the 57, I never use it and it always has conflicts. plus its no longer supported

 

edit 2: I have successfully ran the game with assets spawning with all my mods installed -the SU-30, A4, and gripen.
