Haha! The crew, you mean me, myself and I. 😅

I just posted screenshots of some of the new assets coming in the China asset pack update.

The complete list isn't finished yet, but here are a couple of the new helicopter assets:

  • Z-8G Transport helicopter
  • Z-10 Attack helicopter
  • Z-19 Attack helicopter
  • Z-21 Attack helicopter
  • Z-20 Transport helicopter

Weapons include unguided rockets, machine gun pods, guided rockets, IR AAMs and AGMs. As well as door gunners for the transport helicopters.

The helo's look amazing.

Hope you'll also look at aircraft like the Xi'an JH-7 and one of the Flanker derivatives (J-15, J-16) someday for the Chinese assets.

Just want to say thanks for your mods, Currenthill. We've recently added support for some of your asset packs in Retribution (Russia, China, and Sweden are supported right now), and it's a lot of fun playing dynamic campaigns with all these additional units in them. Loving the variety.

Thank you for the great mods!

Does anyone have a solution to this:
I'm working on an intercept mission, where I would like the TU160 to open its bomb bay doors. But not shoot straight away, as that would be the ROE change for the Player.
I found the argument and value to look for, but can't seem to trigger any action to actually open the doors.
If it can't be done with triggers can it be done with scripting? I tried ChatGPT but none of the solutions offered worked 😄

Again, thank you for the great mods!

First- huge fan of the outstanding work you do here, CH.

Quick question for anyone- Updated RWR symbology works in the Hornet, but am having difficulty figuring out why I can't get it working in the Tomcat- Everything coming up as Unknown.  Am I missing something, or is this something the Tomcat module can't do?

As far as I know that file should be common to all aircraft. It literally goes in a folder named "common".

I need to add some asset to that file. I don't fly much anymore but it's a good way to verify a custom radar for a mod is working. I'll try a few planes over the weekend and see if I notice a difference as well.

And once again thank you Mr. Currenthill for providing this file in the first place

It's working in F-15C. I was able to add new mods to the list and both those and CH's assets displayed as they should.

But I did have issues with the F-14b. Only displayed a "N" no matter the ship. But I have no clue how to setup the cockpit in the F-14 so I might be doing something wrong.

You will always find the latest version of all my assets here: http://www.currenthill.com

Hey guys!

Since the numbers of assets I've created is starting to grow considerably, I've decided to reorganize everything for your sake and mine.

This will be the thread where I post information about releases of new and current assets. And I'd be happy to get your feedback on them as we've done so far. I appreciate you mentioning any issues you have, or ideas or new assets to create. To avoid confusion I will be decommissioning all my other threads.

All the assets are available in one place with information about version, download link, size, stats and changelog with just a click.

great job!

Would we have github link as alternative? Re-download full pack each time is a pain for my slow DL speed 😞

During the Chinese New Year, can the Chinese bag be updated during the festival? I kind of can't wait. Thanks again to currenthill for bringing us very good mods.

Thank you!

Unfortunately the size of my asset packs is a pain. And I'm always thinking about ways to make it easier to both maintain and for users to download. The perfect solution would be some sort of bit-level incremental download where only the parts of the updated files are downloaded. And I've tried several solutions. At the moment I've settled for the multiple Google Drive links (since they offer the most generous transfer limits per 24h at 750 GB) in combination with a full and incremental option of download. I have described the setup in my FAQ. So in essence, every time I make smaller changes and you already have downloaded the Complete pack, you only need to download the much smaller Incremental update (and don't forget to overwrite your Complete installation with it).

Having my assets at Github wouldn't be possible as they are over 60 GB in size.

not sure whether one repository per each asset pack can work. if each pack not exceed 10GB, can try gitlab.

Why not use a tools like "Open mod manager" with individual unit asset (light weight).
People will have only one clic to update any assets :

It can simplify maintenance of single units broken. But I think the true problematic is factorising common textures assets.

That's how I started, but this approach doesn't scale very well. The amount of overhead you create when maintaining every asset individually is crazy. You have to remember that I'm just one guy, and I'm currently developing new assets while maintaining almost 250 assets. With every DCS update there is something I need to fix to one, several or all assets, to keep them working as intended.

If I had an incremental updater I would actually prefer to have all my assets in one pack. This would be very beneficial for both maintenance and development as I could consolidate code, textures and models more efficiently.

Yep, no worries. Was just explaining to anyone else reading this. It's always the scaling that gets you, haha. Many of my packs are even too large to work with OvGME. 😅
