If DCS fails to authorize modules like with today's sever issues, it wipes out all settings from the "Special" tab in DCS Options. These settings are normally saved in "\Saved Games\DCS\Config\options.lua" in the ["plugins"] section. But DCS overwrites this file on every launch, and it does not bother to preserve options for modules that lost authorization.

Before:

options - Copy (4).lua

After:

options.lua

I am hoping I will not have to reset all the modules I bought in the past once they fix this authorization issue. Not cool at all.

I just checked mine, and both standalone and open beta are wiped out.

Yup same issue here. This shouldn't be happening. I shouldn't have to redo all the settings whenever this happens. Every warbird will have Take Off Assist at 100% and the trim settings for helis are borked.

Hi @some1 . I checked my OB files: this did not happen to me, although I also met the many "50#" errors we got a few days ago.

Did it happen to anybody else out there? It's plain to see in some1's options.lua file: the "plugins" section only refers to free content (CaptoGlove, LeapMotion, Su-25T, TF-51...) and mods (A-4EC, Tacview...).

Same for me too, takeoff assist turned on in the warbirds, cockpit options (like language or trimmer options in the Hind etc.) were reset...

That's not what I see. You need to modify one setting to cause the issue.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start DCS and get module auth error.
  2. In DCS main menu, edit any Special option and save: now, the options.lua file is purged of aircraft which could not be authentified.

I did not change any options manually, but the file was still wiped out. Maybe because I start DCS from different shortcuts with command line options (like --force_enable_VR)

Hi,

Not sure if it's a bug or a feature - in the last two patches my special options revert back to default values across all modules. ED, Is it on purpose? Anyone else having this issue? If not - any way to prevent this from happening?

Thanks.

threads merged,

I have tested a fix for this which will be in a future patch, as long as final testing goes to plan.

thanks
