10 PERCENT TRUE: https://www.10percenttrue.com/

Welcome to Inherent Resolve, a DCS F-15E Strike Eagle Mission designed by Sedlo for the 10 Percent True Podcast.

This is an Close Air Support Mission set on the Syria Map and can be played single-player or multi-crew.  See Read_Me file in the included ,zip for more information.

There are two versions of this mission inside the zip file.  One is a Cold Start and the other an Air Start.  The Air Start version puts you at the refueling track, full of gas and ready to take on any tasking you receive.  It is recommended to fly the Cold Start Version first though, as you will receive more information about the mission.

NOTE: If you are playing multicrew, it must be a locally hosted multiplayer session.  Due to the complex triggers and scripts in the mission you cannot use the Dedicated Server.

This mission is designed for players who are proficient in the DCS F-15E module and its weapons systems.  Examples of challenges you may face include:

•    Basic aircraft handling, such as take offs and landings
•    Use of the various radio and navigation systems.
•    Air to Air Refueling.
•    Dynamic re-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
•    Use of the targeting pod and employment of weapons systems.

(It is essential that you read and understand the included mission briefing documents AND the Read_Me file included in the .zip)

In addition, familiarity with US military terms and abbreviations is helpful to understand what is going on in the flight.  A glossary of useful terms is available at the end of Steve Davies’ excellent book Be Afraid of the Dark, which you can find in your
DCS World ClosedBeta\Mods\aircraft\F-15E\Doc folder.

NOTE: You MUST own RAZBAM’s F-15E Strike Eagle module and you MUST own UGRA MEDIA’s Syria Terrain in order to play this mission!

INSTALLATION: Unzip the contents of the download to your folder at Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Missions

INTELLIGENCE UPDATE

OVERVIEW 06 DECEMBER 2016 AT 01:00 ZULU

Daesh fighters are expected to make a final move on the town of Palmyra this morning after taking the airport late last night.
The Syrian Army has retreated to the Palmyra Army Depot and are expected to hold the base against the current Daesh attack.  The Palmyra Army Depot is a suspected WMD storage area, and it’s in Syria’s best interest to secure these weapons from being compromised.
The State Department and OGA have reached out to the Syrian leadership to offer assistance in securing the WMD but all offers have been declined.
The COALITION partners have determined that WMD falling into the hands of DAESH is to be avoided at all cost.
________________________________________

The Russian Navy Task Force centered around t
he Cruiser VARYAG is expected to make port at Tartus this afternoon.  Refueling and replenishment operations are expected to take 12 hours.
________________________________________

RIVET JOINT has detected indications of a new SA-3 battery located at TYIAS airbase.  The proximity to the FEBA near Palmyra indicates that the Syrians intend to hold TIYAS in the face of any organized Daesh attack.
________________________________________

The new teletype link (POLECAT) between the Syrian Ministry of Defense, RUAFHQ and JACKAL is now operational. This development is meant to ensure positive communications between military leadership on all sides of the situation in Syrian.

If I haven't even misunderstood, the first target (building), asks you to drop the bomb above the clouds?.

The problem is that if you put the coordinates and send the tgp there, it does not stabilise completely in the field as it happens with other modules and being above clouds you can not rectify

No worry, take your time to get familiar with the systems and give it a go when you’re ready.

I am creating some short tutorials for YouTube now, which may help answer any questions you might have.

Inherent Resolve Updated to Version 1.1 July 2, 2023

DOWNLOAD LINK: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3331710/

*********************

Version 1.1 Changelog

- Updated Read_Me and Briefing Documents (added note about replay-ability)
- Adjusted Triggers
- Updated Kneeboards
- If having troubles employing GBU-12 against moving targets, you can recommned to JTAC to switch to guns
- Voice Overs adjusted

*********************

NOTE ABOUT THE "REPLAY-ABILITY" THIS MISSION

This mission was designed with replay-ability in mind.  After the initial refueling, there are 4 stories/scenarios that are written into the mission.  Let’s call them A, B, C and D.

There is a random chance, on any mission, that all 4 scenarios (A, B, C and D) will happen.  There is also a random chance that only A and C will happen.  A random chance that B and D will happen.  A random chance that A, C and D will happen.  And so on, and so on.

This means that if you fly the mission once, chances are if you fly it again it will play out differently the next time.

The goal is that you can keep finding enjoyment and new adventures every time you play.

These random scenarios happen after the initial refuel, so once you fly the COLD START version, you can fly the START FROM PUSH version and likely experience a new aspect of the mission, quickly.

You're very welcome!

@Iron Sights, one thing that I noticed is that the director lights on the KC-135 are a bit misleading when refueling with the F-15E.  The fore/aft lights seem to me like they don't really line up correctly.  The middle light, which I take is supposed to mean you're centered nicely, acts more like the aft limit.  If it keep the lights in a range from the green middle to the forward red it's a lot easier.

lucky you, with my config it´s a struggle to see that damn rigth side light strip. Left side is ok though.

Someone is having problems with the guidance of the gbu? The first one to be launched on the building, usually goes to another unselected point, it seems not to be guided by the laser. My procedure is to select the coordinates as Target point, send the tgp there, select area track and designate... Even so, the bomb sometimes falls where it wants

I have not encountered this myself.  Perhaps post in the F-15E bug section with a track.

Someone asked me how many voice overs are in this mission...

I'm going to say there are 391 lines of dialogue in 174 separate audio files.  That doesn't include the recorded real world audio, which would add a lot more to the total.  A lot of recordings, a lot of editing and a lot time was put into this mission, that's for sure.

So, yeah!  Let's hear it for my voice actor volunteers!  Without them this wouldn't have been possible. So thank you to:

  • HoneyBadger
  • T-Money
  • DeadMike
  • Mace
  • pooledh18
  • Florence
  • nucks_404_epe
  • =Foxtrot=
  • Paladin1CD
  • HoshoDesu

And to those who wished to remain anonymous, I thank you again.

(apologies if I missed anyone off this list)

In-game kneeboards... What they contain and how to use them:

Hey. Love this mission.
The kneeboard obviously contains some very immersive and relevant information.
For some reason I cannot get the kneeboard to show. My kneeboard keymapping correctly done as it works in other missions.

That’s very strange.  Any mods installed?

One of my goals in creating this mission was for it to be replayed over and over, without getting old. To this end, I added some randomization to it.

The main way I did this was to write 4 different sub-plots within the mission. Based on a random value, some or all, of these sub-plots will occur. If we label the sub-plots A-D, it is easier to visualize.

The first time you play the mission, there is a random chance that all 4 subplots (A, B, C, D) will occur. The next time you play it, it is likely the scenario will be different. Perhaps A and D will happen. Or A and B. Or C and D. Or B and D. And so on and so on.

This will help keep things fresh, and allow you to experience different scenarios and outcomes each time you play. Mind you, not all of these sub-plots are earth shattering.

But maybe some of them are.. It's up to you to find out!

Good Luck!

My bad here. Kneeboard is working as intended. I accidentally switched the mode switch on my Virpil CM3 throttle to another mode and that changed my keybinds.

I am good here even while using the black cockpit mod and thanks for the follow-up Seldo.
