There is a distinct sound that an F-15 makes when in the pattern. The F-15 guys told me it was the turkey fethers contracting with throttle charges. Like a high pitch ZEEEET sound. That would be such a nice little touch of you F-15E.

Switch to IAF livery and you'll hear it

It’s there.  Turn your engine control switches off then back on.

Is that what is being done in the real world? Because they do it every time in the pattern.

Not in the pattern — during the launch the pilot turns those switches off to verify that the engine will still run in a “secondary mode”.

During normal engine operation, the engine is controlled by the DEEC (digital electronic engine control).  All engine functions are controlled by this briefcase looking device.  If the DEEC is functioning, the engine will perform w/in the parameters it was designed.

If the DEEC fails, the MFC (main fuel control) will control the engine in a secondary mode of operation and the nozzle will automatically close and cannot be reopened unless done so by maintenance.  With the engine in secondary mode, afterburner is NOT available and the engine takes temperature and pressure readings from other sources.

The sound you hear in the pattern is just the CENC (convergent exhaust nozzle control) blowing air out as it positions the nozzle actuators as the pilot moves the throttle back and forth.  Or when those engine control switches are turned back on and the nozzle opens back to full.

PS — you can’t hear the CENC’s w/all the cockpit noise anyway.

It dosen't have it in external view. I checked on the first flight. Low priority but it needs this sound. Also think you. I always though the turkey father this was odd. The CENC is a much better explanation. It's a distinct Egale sound, and needs to be there at some point.

Do you have any mods?

Only Echo19, which does not modify F-15E files.

Sound settings are...average? I don't see a slider for "reduced engine effects."

It can happen that mods can cause issues with things they should not touch at all.

Try to uninstall that sound mod, run a repair and see if it was indeed the mod causing the audio issue.

I think the FC3 F-15C nozzle sound is louder than the F-15E.
So I was wondering about the volume as well, although I can hear them sufficiently.

I don't run any sound mods.

FC3 nozzle sound is much louder and closer to reality, IMO.

I removed E19 sounds, slow repair (which did catch something of 2600mb whatever it was), ran it with MIL power and with the engine control switches. Live, it's present but way too quiet. In server replay .trks it's still nonexisted (as in my video). Are sounds not synced properly over multiplayer?

Possibly.  When I said it's audible to me, it's loud enough to be annoying while taxiing in F2 view, there's a constant 'breep, breep, breep' every time I touch the throttle.

Tested single player replay .trk and the sound is there but still way too quiet. With the canopy open it's not even audible. However other users hear it just fine. Is the sound effect linked to a specific sound slider in the sound settings?
