I will be replacing my Cougar.  Not bothering with the panel as I fly VR, and I'm in the process of building more accurate panels for my pit anyway.  £299 in the UK.  Big selling points for me (above the Cougar) are the ICO/AB detents, and the additional couple of buttons for extra UI functionality.

Same here, and I've got three Cougars!

I fly only VR but will get the whole rig. The switches will be of use. For example, the slider to control hud intensity, autopilot, and HSI heading select knob, etc. Most can be used by feel alone (that's why many controls have different knob types so you can distinguish between them just by feel). Plus, with the Quest Pro, there's lots of visibility under the visor.

I just got the Viper Panel. I dont see any information for the TARGET. Thrustmaster Downloads doesn't show the TARGET link for this product. if so, How can I make a combined profile with the warthog and this?

Did, or does, any of you own the Winwing Viper throttle?

Any verdict on which one's better? (or did anyone find a proper comparison review between the two?)

 

At some point, sooner rather then later, I want to replace my Cougar throttle.

My TQS arrived today. Loving it! I've had the original Cougar TQS since they were first manufactured. Nothing wrong with the old unit albeit I had upgraded it to use a hall effect sensor, added some low friction tape and converted it to USB.

Now I'm struggling to find a use for the additional depress buttons of the antenna elevation dial and the comms switch.  Any thoughts?

It’s good. Lift, slide up or down, lower. It does the job. Easiest to get to it from under the throttle unlike in some video they try to reach over the throttle and then complain about it.

I received my new throttle mission pack. Very Nice! Now I have both TM throttle Warthog and F16 TQS.

I will most likely use drop down mounts to switch between the two. And also the TM TPR Rudder upgrade was as expected. I really like these rudders.

For those that care, Thrustmaster has updated TARGET to include TQS components. Along with more TQS support files. Now you can really start to customize it with other 'Combined" components.

I don't think you can. Yet.

It's plug and play with the F-16, you will probably need a good SCRIPT/GUI profile for anything else. 

Remember it has two modes.... 32 button and Enhanced 43 button. Which mode is plug and play?

Read the TM TARGET new release notes, as it reguards to the TQS Throttle and Panel.

I had to enable the virtual keys in the TM software coming with it to make it plug and play.

TARGET has been updated to include TQS system components. It works great and solves all the problems I'm hearing about in here.

Does it have a calibration facility? My effing TQS throttle has just (minutes ago) lost its calibration! 80% throttle at just a nudge from idle and 100% at half travel. Plus button 19 comes on shortly when coming out of idle. I have a feeling it's going to be returned. Not even 2 weeks old!

It appears...no. They released a new piece of hardware (as a high end hardware manufacturer)... with no way to calibrate it.

It's possible that it has an auto-calibration facility. Either way, it's broken and has been returned for replacement. I have seen a couple of other reports of exactly the same fault.

No, because Thrustmaster replaced the default game controller tool with their own.
