I'm running MT with Nvidia 3080. The DLSS & all other upscaler options are grayed out. Does anyone have any insight into this?
SSS is also grayed out.

Have you enabled AA? Try to disable it.….

and maybe double-check that you are running MT.

Same here. When I first launched the game after update I could enable DLSS and SSS, but after restart these options are greyed out and it doesn't matter if I "turn them on" in options.lua 😕 No AA enabled.

Apache no HUD problems with DLSS/DLAA ON. But on FC3 massive Problems like you saw...

good. then it's probably a FC3 issue. it's probably already reported internally, but maybe go and post a short bug report to make sure it gets fixed asap.

PD in-game set to 1.0 and in openxr custom render scale at 100%, res at WMR 100%.

Hmm now you get me to think; if I set PD 0.8, would the DLSS do its upscaling job to make it look like.. what?

only one way to find out;)

Then I don‘t know. Looks alright, but I can’t say anything to Steam. I‘m running standalone. Maybe the issue lays there?

Screen Space Shadows. It renders shadows from small scenery objects with little strain on The GPU. It is explained and showcased in the release video.

You mean with little strain on CPU, no? Screen space effects are 100% computed on GPU, no?

Also are those screen space shadows drawn instead of the old tree shadows, or are they dawn in addition for self-shadowing f.e.

No, I meant GPU. SSS is supposed to be a rather light load. (compared to other means of shadow rendering I assume)

Check the Release Video, Wags is talking about it briefly.

I absolutely love the update. DLAA is a game changer, looks way better than msaa and i even get a couple fps more. Also, i can't stop looking at forests with SSS enabled:

Gotta have a look at the new models and heli airflow effects now

I dunno how it works, but it looks better.

Thank you, I was not sure but I was sure that I read the SSS. 😉 The grass-effects when hovering with the AH-64 looks really nice.

On my actual configuration (RTX 4080, 3440x1440 at 165hz) MSAA 4x, no DLSS, i can say that DCS is running flawlessly! Love this update so far! Nice work fellas!

I really hope that people will use the new comms system, i was trying to scream into the frequency but got no human answer for now. I will try again.

You may want to try DLAA without DLSS, in my experience it looks way better than MSAA4x with better performance.

Very quick flight with TAA here, looks ace. No shimmers in VR and foveated rendering works fine. I was CPU limited fwiw.

I’ll test with it tonight, thank you for the advice!

Tested it with a Quest 3 (max resolution and 500mbit) and a 3090 and DLAA is great. Image sharpness is a little bit worse (maybe 10%) than MSAA but  AA is stunning. I would say nearly free of any shimmer. FPS same as MSAA 4x but much better AA.

DLSS was in all setting way to blurry in VR. Maybe the Quest 3 is too sharp in order to work well with DLSS.

Great Update! Now time for the F4E to land!
