You can see this weird colored powerlines in Caucasus when you fly low and look against a bright, foggy or cloudy background.

hello. i may be wrong. this looks like an AA issue. your DLAA is greyed out in the screenshot.

what do you have in NCP for AA?

Well, changing Upscaling from "DLSS" to "OFF" enabled the drop-down Anti-Aliasing, which I've set to "DLAA".

20231201234657_1.jpg

But changing this settings didn't solve the issue, the color of the powerlines is still weird:

20231201234224_1.jpg

When I'm understand the grapical options correct then setting Upscaling from "OFF" to "DLSS" just locks the setting Anti-Aliasing to "DLAA", but doesn't disable it. It wjust greyed-out, but not invisible. This could mean that DLSS is requiring DLAA. Please correct me, if I'm wrong.

I don't think so. I've tried several AA options (DLAA only, DLAA with DLSS, MSAA 2x, MSAA 4x) - sadly always with the same result.

more i look, it seems to me an AA issue. try to turn off all the AA settings in DCS. see if there is a change. all sorts of things it could be. i personally do not have this issue.

  • [NVCP] AA mode: off, [DCS] AA: off -> same issue
  • [NVCP] AA mode: default (application-controlled), [DCS] AA: off -> same issue
  • [NVCP] AA mode: default (application-controlled), [DCS] AA: DLAA, [DCS] UPSCALING: off, [NVCP] AA gamma correction: off -> same issue
  • [NVCP] AA mode: default (application-controlled), [DCS] AA: DLAA, [DCS] UPSCALING: DLSS, [NVCP] AA gamma correction: default -> same issue

I also tried to change SHARPENING from 0,5 to 0 and 1, but that hadn't any effect to this issue either.

Did you watch the whole track (~1 Minute)? Which GPU do you have?

BTW: I'm using the latest nVidia drivers (546.17 DCH)

sorry i do not have huey so i cannot watch the track. @Flappie may be able to interject. i have a 3090.

have you emptied your shader folders? reinstalled graphics driver? renamed your options.lua to options.lua.bak? restart DCS and it will be recreated.

I've seen the same issue yesterday. I'm sure it had been fixed at some point (when 2.8 came out, I believe). Here's a track you can try, @silverdevil. Tell us if you see it too.

thanks flappie. i will test today and let y'all know.

@AstonMartinDBS and @Flappie here is a screenshot taken running flappies track. it seems to happen at certain angles. but this screenshot definitely shows the same white powerlines.

Yesterday we flew a mission in the heavy foggy weather with Light Rain 1 preset, and powerlines always renders weird when their backdrop was fog (and in the distance the sky). When there was fog behind them and a small bit after that was land, they rendered normally.

If track's needed, I can make one tonight, but wanted to check if anyone else experienced this as well.

EDIT: just to be clear, they looked exactly like in the OPs screenshots

That's exactly the same, what I observed after the recent patch:

BTW: The issue with landing on water has been reported separately in the UH-1H section.

This looks like something in the rendering pipeline. What could be bad news for us is that if it is, we are likely not going to see the fix until the switch to the Vulkan codebase.
