If you use the KA-50 as it was meant to be used the A-10's will completely miss you (should you be afraid they're out to engage you). In a target area I'm keeping an eye out for missle trails or worrying about hitting my targets...I'm not thinking "i'm going to poach a lonely helo"...I leave the CAP to fighters.

As aviation fans we should be thankful the DCS series is out there to make top quality study sims for our niche market. If we don't support the franchise then it will not be able to expan and none of us will get anything we want.

It's an interesting discussion though...people are making some good points.

Who knows, the next DCS module could be "DCS:Mi-8". Not quite what some people are expecting...

I'd buy that one!

(Also, native english speakers, what is the proper spelling of "whoo's" or "who'se" etcetera? I never manage to get that one right...)

Seeing as what ED will produce in future depends on what contracts they get from the military, I think the question that needs to be asked is what military contracts are ED working on at the moment and does ED have any contracts lined up? Presumably the A-10C contract for USANG is (or nearly is) completed if ED are able to divert resources to creating an A-10 DCS module.

Also, the implication of this policy is that if ED does not get a contract to create a training tool for an operator of the AH-64, then we will never be seeing an Apache DCS module!

Since BS, I love to fly russian choppers. I would also fly a MI-8 "Hip", or any other russian model. If there will be no AH-64, I would also love to see a "Comanche":megalol:. Anything, as long it is as good modelled, as BS.

I´d be glad for c-130 spectre they are working on for USAF.

Can´t forget the mission in cod4, perfect atmosphere and the feel of power.....unbelievable.

I agree, although if the AH-64A doesn't move forward due to lack of sufficient technical information...there's NO way the commache would get the green light.

Tech specs on that baby are as classified as they come.

I seriously doubt the Comanche will get the green light one way or another. The RAH-66 was an experiment, and it's done.

Im surprised the Apache is being done TBH. Thought most of it would still be CLAS but then again it doesn't have a readar.

How about some cold war jets?

would luve to fly the A6 off a CVN or Jag

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Why do you think the radar is what makes it classified? ;)

And sure, if you find someone to issue a contract for some cold war jets ...

cos most radars are CLASS like the Longbow radar....

or do the D without the Longbow... then the Brits would be in a game for a change........

My point being that the radar isn't the only classified bit of hardware on there ;) Try the jammer and datalink systems for one, at minimum.

I am an native english (well Kiwi) speaker (bro) , and allways kinda thought it was "Who's" as in an abreviation for "Who is" ..

So would I! (but I'd prefer something a bit more racey!)

Lets hope ED have some good contracts in the pipeline - I suspect they do but they probably can't talk about them!

well i vote for the a10 cause it is the product that is first prority in the production line. no need to say again what ED allready said 1000 times.

ka50 -> a10c -> further, not 100% sure.

i would love to have the ah64 cause i think it is way more capable then the ka50. one reason, 2 man cockpit, but that just the main thing aside to many others that make it superior to the ka50

We want the A64 Longbow!!!!!

You aren't getting one. ;)

A-10 but a UH-1 would be nice, too.

Yeah, a highly underused helicopter. I think only Battlefield Vietnam has 'em, and that isn't a simulation by a long shot. Okay... troop deployment and similar stuff may get a little boring after while, but it would make a nice addition. I fondly remember Gunship 2000 where you could fly quite a few helicopters.

I want also that kinda attack aircraft: A-64 :pilotfly::smartass::thumbsup::gun_smilie:

Maybe it's same like the Hog but i believe it's equipped with a Longbow radar :megalol:

Hehe, you should read a book about the Air Cav in Vietnam. Troop insertions into / extractions from hot LZs and also rescue missions were among the most dangerous missions pilots had to fly. Not only were they exposed to enemy fire on the approach, ground and departure, these missions also required a great deal of flying skills. ;)

May I suggest "Chickenhawk" by Robert Mason. I rarely read books because I don't have the patience.... this one I've read in one go.
