Yeah, I got the F4 but not learned it yet. I simply suck at jets. That is probably because I almost never fly them, know nothing about its tactics and when people talk about their mission I don’t even understand their language. This campaign might change that. I might just start to learn some of it

The F-4 is basically a warbird with jet engines, that's why I love it 😉

This is the intro video of Mission 1 of the MIG Killers DCS F-4 Campaign.

In 1969 the first Topgun course began with a fam flight, where the instructor sat in the front with the student in the back. He demonstrated some confidence builder maneuvers, they landed, switched seats and then the student performed them. It's interesting to note that during the regular training course Naval aviators hadn't really been allowed to push their F-4s to the edge of the envelope, so some were taken by surprise when the instructors zoomed up until the jet ran out of airspeed and slid back tail first.

Due to DCS limitations the players can go through the first part of the fam flight in the form of this video. The actual mission will start after the instructor and the student swapped seats, and the jet has been refueled. Enjoy!

@Reflected

I have both of the F-14 Campaigns, but I have yet to start them, and from what I have read, it sounds like I should start playing MiG Killer's first, then S&A, and then Fear the Bones.

Your thoughts?

I'd Say SA first - it's an undergraduate training. It teaches you how to become a fighter pilot. You don't go to Topgun before earning your wings 🙂 THEN MIG Killers, which is the earlier Topgun Syllabus, and then Zone 5, which is an evolved version of that from the 80s.

Definitely hope so too. This one has been on my list since you introduced it. I predict that it will be the best executed campaign in DCS yet--you always manage to raise the bar with your efforts. Thanks, please keep it up, and can't wait to play it!

Are you wondering what the gameplay will be like in my upcoming MIG Killers campaign? Here's a playthrough of mission 2 where I explain many of the unique features:

HA!  Poor Reflected has to fly in 2D and can't maintain SA...welcome to my world!  😂

Oh, and can you re-write the AI to not jerk around so much?  Sorry, I just had to say that.  Seriously, since you recommended S&A first I should learn how to fly the -14, but there's a statistically high chance this will be the first campaign I decide to tackle...
